My '05's developed a rattle in the area of the rear latch for the targa top when I hit a bump. It sounds like it is right behind my right ear. Has any one dealt with this before? The car "has" had the roof panel recall performed already and is NOT the problem. I physically can't see a...
Glad it worked out. NOT to tell anybody how to maintain their car, but you should put a fusable link back in when you get around to it. It serves as a "slow-blow" type of fuse that won't pop from a brief indiscretion.
Good Luck.
You can use a harmonic balancer puller. Just use the opposing 2 legs of it and tighten them evenly so the puller is level. If it is stuck,.. put some tension on it by tightening the center puller bolt down, then TAP the center puller bolt. It'll pop right off.
WORKS LIKE A CHARM!
The FSM for my 1990 shows a 20amp fuse for Inj1. That sounds about right too. Also the Assy. (Accessory) fuse feeds all(or most) of the Orange (HOT) interior wires. There are about 12 to 14 legs buried in a huge wire harness behind the passenger dashboard that come off of that. These are for...
On my '90 C4 I had to replace the tank and the fuel lines due to rusting out. Fuel lines are along the inside of the right side frame rail. They make some wicked bends around the rear suspension. and the frame.
Also check the 1/4" vent line that goes from the top left of the tank and up...
Here's a couple pics of the steering wheel and air bag. Note there is a cover over the wheel as the original leather is worn and torn. It's the way I bought the car. The cover is very tight fitting so I didn't want to stretch it removing it.It could be re-covered if you wish. Horn buttons and...
Hib; That's why I mentioned the K&N air filter. It'll increase air flow a bit. Besides a 2 lb. increase isn't all that much. Now if he was dropping 32 pounders' in there I'd be concerned.
Corvette central sells an inexpensive water temp. switch you install in the left head in a plugged water jacket hole above the 1 & 3 spark plugs. You then wire splice into the fan relay wiring. I used it on my "90 along with a 160 thermostat. It comes with installation instructions that are...
Go to Jeggs.com and get a set of NEW Accel 24pounders. Stock in the Vette is I believe 22lb. These WILL work great. I put them in my '90 last year and she humms a pretty tune. They are reasonable too. About $300. Get a K&N air filter too. You'll love it. PERIOD!
Here's what you REALLY...
And there was NO warranty on the ac/Delco? I hope you took it back. Were there shims involved or forgotten?. Was starter to flywheel(torque conv.) ring gear mesh ever checked?..... To be sure the "Bendix" as we called it(starter drive gear), moved in and out of engagement, without binding.
There are some splices concealed inside the wire harness by the glove box. You will find a huge wire harness about 2-3 inches thick. The orange accessory splice is also in there with about 12 legs on it. Its a big job getting to it. Before I got too crazy taking the dash apart, I'd remove...
Make sure you have good vacuum connections at the manifold vacuum source and at the cruise diaphragm (pancake) including any other hose connections. Check the vacuum hose(s) for kinks and cracks too. Any loss of vacuum will cause it to "hunt" of fluctuate. A good way to find a vacuum leak...
Try Corvettecentral.com. Their prices are reasonable(or as reasonable as Vette parts get) and their parts are quality. Fast shipping & Great customer service too. I use them a lot.
