    Whats unique in your Garage?

How about a Popcorn machine! I have a big one that I roll around on it`s stand. Everyone probably has a beer cooler of some kind to keep the Coronas in, but popcorn, Coronas, and a good Cohiba really takes the bite out of this damn cold weather. The problem is once you start eating the corn you...

    Z06 Roadster

I agree with several posts. The present Z06 was suppost to be an entry level no frills cheaper Vette and didn`t sell. GM was stuck with a useless body style and got the bright idea to name it a Z06 with an unavailable engine in the Coupe and roadster so they could get them sold. It worked with a...

    Anti-Freez pouring out this tube????--'89

This appears to be a Chrysler product gear reduction starter. Don`t worry about the anti freeze, it`s probably some left over from the heater core replacement that dripped down on the engine. :upthumbs

    Hot or cold plugs?

R43`s are too cold. The "S" means extended tip. Not recommended for high compression engines but ok for the lower HP cars. Buy a set of R45S and the engine should clean right up. 44`s in any style have been discontinued and the 45 is a better replacement choice. :D :m

    Knock-Off Problem??

Get a Set Of Daytons NICE wheels John Z. Those Halibrands are the only other wheel that I would consider for my 62 instead of the Dayton knock-offs. I use them on all the race cars, but the magnesium turns gray and are a constant polish problem. Probably the principal reason I don`t have them...

Is it possible to confirm certain options by just the VIN? NEED HELP ASAP!!!

Dealer Invoice For exactly what came on the car, a dealer invoice matching the vin would be necessary for proof positive of the factory ordered RPO`s such as below from my 1962. :cool

overheating after highway driving at 85-90mph

Overheatring A very simple reason for the high temp is the water is circulating too fast for the radiator to cool the liquids. This function can be fixed many times by merely changing to a 195 stat. The 195 will hold the coolant back in the engine allowing the radiator to operate properly. I...

edelbrock 600 cfm or Holly hp series 750 cfm

Bigger, better? In a few situations bigger is not always better;LOL And this could be one of the few times where this phrase will apply. Bigger may look good however sometimes don`t work as well as the smaller one.:L

L88 engine specs and cam questions

Re: Trans and Gears..... Your 4.10 is good on the freeway too. At 70 mph. your only at 3500 RPM`s. :D Plus the acceleration for passing is great.:cool

Do you still have the rivets in your rotors?

Re: Re: Bad Bad I`m glad you asked. If you ever looked at the Members Picture Gallery under wallyknoch and looked at my dealers invoice you will see that one of the RPO`s I ordered on the 62 was metallic brakes. At the present the car has only 30,000 miles on it. Probably the first 20,000...

L88 engine specs and cam questions

Transmission The turbo 400 would be a suitible choice of automatics to handle a ton of HP. A recomended minimum of 3000 stall converter, but dont go overboard with the stall as it will heat up with out a trans cooler. Instead of a L88 cam, the 435 HP 427`s cam will be more practical as others...

Calling all L98 cam & rebuild experts

For a really nice cam up grade, use the GM 151 hydraulic cam. It`s actually for a 327/350 used in the mid 60`s. A new set of valve springs from the same years and you will notice a significant improvement.:upthumbs

    T 10 4 speeds

Was a close ratio T 10 trans available in a 1962 Vette or was it standard with a HP engine? If not, what RPO option would it be? Or how could you tell? :confused :beer

Do you still have the rivets in your rotors?

Bad Bad If you like a incomplete brake job, never cut the rotors. The expense is not that great and why take a chance that the rotors are still true. If a do it your selfer wants to save money, thats not the place to be cheap. Throwing money away on usless roller engine parts is where you...

    Headlight locations, types...

I have never burned one out! They have been in my 62 since 64 and the 68 since 68. 66 Riviera since 66 and a 72 Ranchero since 72. It seems like they can light up a freeway for a mile or more. It`s hard on oncoming traffic though. I always dim mine with oncoming traffic.

    Headlight locations, types...

Landing lights If the number is 4537, thats a good price. The reason none can be used in the low beams is that airplanes dont have high and low.:D No dimmer switches down by the pedals:L I use to sell a lot of them when 4 lites were common. That plus hardly nobody knows what they are and then...
