    Interior Dye

I was VERY happy with the spray dye I bought from corvette central (restickered corvette america dye:eyerole). I personally didn't buy a dye primer. I washed mine thoroughly with soapy water, and then rubbed my panels down with acetone twice. Good results. Probably prep sol, laquer thinner...

1969 Ride Height--- Rear end question...

First give it a little time. My old 68 sat much higher after putting in a new spring, and eventually settled. Also, you can lower the rear by tightening up the nuts on the outer ends of the spring; or by buying longer bolts and doing the same. It will draw the spring down. Never done it...

    Question: 1969 2 top roadster

I'd have to be inclined to think he MIGHT be interested in selling it...He did come out to talk about the car, what spare parts he had in the shed, etc. If there was no chance, you probably wouldn't have got a chance to look at it with him; wether he actually has some say in it or not. If...

    Sounds good. Thanks Mike:)

    Stock GM wheel question

My 69 came with old unilug aftermarket wheels on it; and they are coming off before the car ever sees the road again! Can I use standard 15x7 or 15x8 standard old junkyard black GM rims on the car and not have any clearance or offset issues? Will they look right in the wheelwells? I have a...

    Updated pics

Congrats! I don't care too much for red CARS, but I have always liked vettes any color with red interiors! Looks good:)

    69, 70, and 72 vette

Get the one with the least birdcage rust. Of these three, it makes all the other factors irrelevant!

    What engine was originally installed?

Another clue that would indicate a BB is a 7 leaf spring as opposed to a 9 leaf for a SB (although it could have been changed of course)

    WTB 69 interior parts

Looking for used seats, door panels, and a RH dash panel. Probably more stuff as time goes by and I begin to check the car out more. Missing quite a bit of odds and ends. Prefer saddle, and would probably consider other years too. Car will be a driver after I put it back together. What do...

    poor running 84

Yes its at the end of the fuel pump. The pump will lift right up out of the top of the gas filler lid, no need to mess with the tank. I offered this only a possibility...I would check and confirm FP before checking the sock. It would seem to me that there are more likely directions to go...

    Seized Fill Plug-4+3 OD Unit

Wow, an 18" and it still won't go? I'd try MANY heat/cool cycles along with intermittent tapping the plug with a small hammer to break any corrosion up. PB blaster is good, but it doesn't sound like it'll help you much, but on the other hand, it can't hurt.

    poor running 84

I think the timing on an 84 is the same as the other early C4's...6 deg. btdc. Also has the car been off the road for a while? Might want to take a look at the sock at the bottom of your fuel pump if your pressure is low. I know the 84's don't run the pressure an L-98 does; it's much lower...

What is the floor board made of ?

On 85's there is an odd looking, C4 specific hangar located right in front of the cat, just behind where your y pipes meet. It holds the pipes up tight to the cars' tunnel here. It holds the bulk of the exhausts weight to the trans/beam with a large "L" shaped bracket which is isolated in...

    Horn Button

86 to I THINK 90 (old style interior without airbags) will fit w/o any modification. FYI, I've driven C4's with the newer thicker wheel and my 85 with the thinner wheel. Most like the thick one, I like the thin one for what its worth. Those tabs break off pretty easy over the years, but it...

    Horn Button

Wheel stays on. I am looking at a spare wheel that I have, I cant figure out whats giving you the problems! I know your plate is good, so I'll try this: There are 3 square 'holes' at 12, 4, and 8 on the wheel, as well as some notched cutouts at 1,5,6,7, and 11. Any damage? In 86, the...

    HELP!!! c4 digital dash harness

There are two on my 85. One goes to the DIC, I am only guessing that the other goes to the computer. Did your dash work correctly, and has someone swapped engines or the engine management system on your 84 (carbed it or gone to TPI?)

    interior lightd

I would look at the metal plunger switches in the hinge area below the windshield first.(front jamb). Sounds like the fuse is OK if the headlight knob turns them on. Wiggle them, turn them gently with a deep well socket; I think its 7/16, to see if you can get at least a flicker out of them...

    Dash Pad removal

Yep. 85 is same. I don't remember one by the fuse box panel, though. Also, there are none above the breadbox.

    interior lightd

If you are referring to the timer delay, it is up underneath the passenger hush panel, just below the breadbox. It is a thin black plastic box, 2x2, somewhat 'L' shaped with I 'think' a 5 wire plug. It is sometimes taped to the wire harness. Little tough to get to, taking the seat out is a...
