    What are true 'Sawblades' ??

The 89-91 wheels are also referred to as "cuisinarts". I've heard more guys refer to the later style, 92-96, as sawblades, making it easier to distinguish between the two.:w

Corvette to sport Chevy's gold bow-tie?

Maybe this isn't he right word, but the corvette looks "elegant" without a prominent, bold emblem. The crossed flags through all the generations have just seemed to fit the car the way it should....sleek, cool, and racy. Even before reading this post, I can honestly say that I always thought...

Sounds like baffled pipes may be some sort of modified sidepipe? I know ecklers, MAM, Corvette Central, etc sell muffler eliminators to take the place of your mufflers; essentially straightpipes out the back that retain the look of the tips. A local muffler shop can do this for less money...

I really like my flowmasters. Nice low growl at idle, and sound great cruising or under acceleration. I've heard guys talk about resonance at different RPM's in the cockpit, with different exhausts, so sure there is personal preference. Maybe look for some sound files first. BTW, if you...

    Favorite brand of gas?

    In my 85 L98, Sunoco 87, with a tankful of Sunoco 93 or 94 every 4 to 5 fillups.

    1984 c4

Yep, too much for those kind of miles. I don't know the GA market, but a good but not spectacular 84 in my part of PA should be around 4500. Less obviously for a 118K car that needs tires or paint, or more importantly INTERIOR work.

1988 Major Coolant Leak In Rear Of Engine

Wouldn't an 88 Z-51 with an oil cooler have coolant pipes running over there? If so, are they threaded/flared lines or threaded with O-rings? Something else to consider:confused

Bypass or Delete interior light timer???

If you're certain everything is AOK at the timer relay, try rolling/jiggling the plunger a little by hand a little and tighten the nut a bit (7/16 socket?) I did this bypass over the winter, and tested the same way you are, ended up with the same thing--erratic operation of the lights. It...

    Valvoline Instand Oil Change Warning

These posts are incredible, absolutely incredible!:mad As far as the GMC truck with the cut lines, that shop would be buying and installing the preformed steel lines from GM, period. How can they justify that? It would be like saying "we dented your door, but its OK because we popped it...

    68 versus 69 Hood Latches

I BELIEVE so. I had a 68 vert which was a mess of later C3 parts when I bought it, including a later hood and missing vacuum wiper door setup, so I've spent a lot of time in this area bringing the car back. Unfortunately, its been about 8 years since I sold the car so I'm not 100% sure. Be...

    New......Help!

My 85 is a Texas car, and it looks much better than that.:beer The picture of the tranny bugs me for some reason BTW. Unless of course you're getting a hellava deal (including the transporter fee $$$) I've heard that stuff from coastal southern areas is just as bad as northeast, with the...

    A/C compressor fried.

I bought a rebuilt last fall from Advance Auto. It is a reman., by Four Seasons. It cost me $152 complete with clutch, and so far so good. Mine is an 85; are we talking about the same compressor? If so, I'm REAL happy with the price!

    Battery/electrical problem

. I suggest you first disconnect the underhood lights, then see if it still runs down. I had that problem and found it accidently. HTH Same here on my 85. I don't know how the mercury switches cannot do their job, but that was my problem, too.

Oil pressure (buying my first vette).

550 idle in drive is good. Few obvious quick things you could look for on the motor that aren't truly indicitave of a rebuild but may lead you to believe it is are good quality headers, roller rockers, better intake system, clean gasket tabs, and receipts if you haven't asked yet. I'm sure...

Oil pressure (buying my first vette).

18 is a little low in my opnion, but I have seen some good running, high mileage V-8's with less than that at idle that are fine. I think that you should give extra consideration to whichever car you are thinking about that is overall the cleanest of the 3 (esp paint and interior) and not so...

    A close one!

I never thought that the Susquehanna would come near my vette....I park it on a steep bank overlooking the river. But when NOAA said a crest of 32 feet, (the record was 21), I moved it to high ground. It never made up that high and crested around 25, which would have been lapping at the tires...

    Great time at Le Mans

I don't know about anyone else, but this style of racing is becoming more and more interesting to me. Rolex series, Lemans, etc. I grew up in Watkins Glen during the days of the US Grand Prix, but I never paid much attention to it. I've always been a NASCAR fan, but I'm becoming aware that...

    A/C O-ring question; 85; making me nuts!

Tyrel, you're right. I finally got that end to seal; I was worried about cranking it down so hard that I'd ruin the aluminum threads on the drier or the fitting, but thats what I did, and now all is good.:beer
