    blowing fuel pump fuse

My problem was very similar.....sporadic dash lights but otherwise OK. It turned out to be one of the wires in the multi-pin connector on the side of the cluster. If I remember, it was the one which supplies POWER to the bulbs; not a GROUND as most people usually report. Fixed this wire, no...

WTB: Front license plate cover '85

Yea, I'm getting funny about ebay though. Never had a bad deal, but getting wary of people not advertising shipping$, or having a $19 s&h on something that can go in a priority mail envelope. (Yes, I saw that recently!):eyerole Sheesh!

Blown head gasket on my 1988 L-98

Are the fluids mixing? If you've added that much water, has the oil level gone up or have you seen a white exhaust?:W

    C4 mpg help

I average about 24 MPG highway and +/-20 overall. Never thought I'd say it but I'm getting envious of the guys with 2.59's. Car is a stock L-98 auto. with 3.07's and a good exhaust; no codes, runs AOK.....what do I have to do to get up there with the 30 MPG guys?

    blowing fuel pump fuse

Does your dash work well and just dim? If so, there are 4 high intensity bulbs which light the LCD's. You can get to them by removing the front bezel and popping out the 4 round metal covers. Bulbs are behind them, they're GE 882's. They pop out of their socket, you can do this by pushing a...

    '57 power top question

Hi guys, I over here from the C4 section. I was at a buddy of mines who has always been a solid axle guy (me too but....) Anyhow, he always has a couple of them he builds. He just bought a 57 body, complete with interior, rough and unrestored. Was parked in 63 and has 34,000 miles. Turned...

    MOPAR Encounter

Boy I don't know...I've heard those neons are hard to beat, especially with the PT Cruiser drivetrain:rotfl Sorry, couldn't resist. I know the feeling though. What do those dopes think they're trying to accomplish?:eyerole

    About the ignition wires...

I'd attribute the drone to the tires, but of course check the fluids in the tranny & rear gear. Manual???

State Farm's new way to screw you for more money

Adding my 85 last year (with no collision) cost an extra 160 every six months........here in PA too! I finally replied to one of those unsolicited insurance offers in the mail, this time it was AIG. It was well worth it; wish I had done it sooner! I had been a GEICO customer for about 10 years...

    heater control panel, vacuum leak?

Maybe you have a couple of chewed or frayed/rubbing vacuum lines that control those functions? My 85 had this problem, and instead of putting in new lines from the panel to the actuators, I just spliced them. (Real tight in there) Good as ever! Also, I believe that a small release of air...

    Strange Clicking Noise

Couple more stabs at it: Did anyone retrofit ABS onto your 84? Bads ABS sometimes makes a clicking/tumbling noise. Bad exhaust manifold gasket? '84 used electric fans and not a water pump mounted fan, didn't they? If so, fan/shroud clearance shouldn't be a problem. My '85 will make a...
