THANKS!!!!! that doesn't look very promising..... :ohnoes

    ??? Eckler's 1977-81 C# Stinger hood ???

I'm only about 2.5 hours-away from Ecklers, but if they don't have the hood in-stock, there's no-point in driving over to Titusville to see it..... :ugh I had thought about going with this hood, also manufactured in Florida, but I don't know if I could see the bottom-bulb of the Christmas Tree...

    Change rear gear ratio-cost

Yeah..... driving the rolling hills of S.W. Taxylvania with 2.87s and the A/OD trans sucked pretty-bad, but with 3.73s, the RPMs were kept high-enough that the transmission wasn't constantly upshifting/downshifting: I was told that ZIP Products have 4.10 gear-sets that will go into the Series-3...

    ??? Eckler's 1977-81 C# Stinger hood ???

I'm hoping a Forum-member might have purchased this hood, and could supply under-side pictures & locations /dimensions: I was told that Ecklers only makes these hoods to-order, and probably wouldn't have any on-hand / in-stock to get me this information..... ;shrug

    ??? Eckler's 1977-81 C# Stinger hood ???

Fabricating a sheet-metal air-pan/box is no-biggie..... My concerns are is the facing-opening located in-front of the carb (or behind? ), and is the scoop 'open' from beneath, or is the scoop 'bonded-on' to another hood, without access to the front-facing opening from below?

    Change rear gear ratio-cost

I had the 2.87s swapped-out for 3.73s 4 years-ago, and it immediately made the car run quicker: I still got 17+ MPG while breaking them in without trying! I recall my costs were $135 for the ring & pinion (new, from Drive-Train, a shop on Long Island ), and another $450 for a buddy I knew to...

    ??? Eckler's 1977-81 C# Stinger hood ???

If any Forum-member has this hood http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?dept%5Fid=1356&pf%5Fid=29662&mscssid=978QUANDKNRS9K4TP2LQKEVMRNX6C2W2 I have a few questions about it: I'm considering using it for my '82, which will be bracket-raced, and I am curious if it can be made into a...

    Comp Cam Kit Advice

Curtis turned me onto the potential of the vortec head earlier this year, when I asked about building a bracket-race motor from my L-83 short-block: while I haven't began this project yet, I have forwarded most of what Curtis voluteered, uncluding the listings of S-D-P intake/head kits, to an...

    Comp Cam Kit Advice

Vortec heads will need a vortec-style intake manifold: Scoggin-Dickey Performance offers head/intake/gasket kits for a decent price. http://www.sdparts.com/product/SD8060AKIT/UpgradedVortecHeadKitEdelbrockPerformerIntake.aspx This will raise the compression from a typical L-48 from 8.2:1...

    uncapping headers for the track?

    25 years-ago, when my Z28 was a 14-second machine, open pipes were worth .1-.15: now that it runs 12-eighties, they're probably worth as-much, maybe-more, in ET. ..... can't-say if YOUR car will be quicker with open-pipes, but it'll sure-be more-fun!!!!! ;)

..... you mean..... they DIDN'T?????? :ohnoes

Earnhardt to Drive No. 88 Next Season

Seeing that 3 Hendrick cars won plate-races in the last year (48 @ Daytona Feb '06, Summer-Teef at Talladega Oct '06, and Gordon @ 'Dega this Spring ), and that DEI hasn't won a plate-race since October '04..... ..... I hope-not!!!!!

Earnhardt to Drive No. 88 Next Season

[Mike Joy] "..... Junior hasn't looked this dominant since DEI ruled the restrictor-plate tracks from '02 to '04....." [/Mike Joy] ..... the term 'BUTT-FUGLY' just got a new definition.....

Dale Earnhardt Jr. expected to run No. 88 on Hendrick Chevrolets

the eyes/eye-brows are Leonard Nimoy, but the nose/curled-lips are Jack Nickolson

Dale Earnhardt Jr. expected to run No. 88 on Hendrick Chevrolets

No-doubt the man can shoe a race-car..... but that picture looks-like a cross between Mr. Spock & the Joker from the Batman movie

Dale Earnhardt Jr. expected to run No. 88 on Hendrick Chevrolets

2 things stand-out in my mind about Dale Jarrett: #1- him having a heated-discussion with a young Jeff Gordon in the pits about on-track contact, caught on TV, and when Jarrett said "that happens again, and I'll put you into the wall" , to-which Gordon replied, "Yeah..... and I'll take you...

Dale Earnhardt Jr. expected to run No. 88 on Hendrick Chevrolets

I doubt NASCAR would allow a numeral with a decimal-point, and while NASCAR might-not 'own' such-numbers, Budweiser might have to give legal-permission for Dale Jr. to 'use' that number for any adverstisement/monetary-gain. I'd say there is a very-slight chance Junyah will get the #3 (or...

Dale Earnhardt Jr. expected to run No. 88 on Hendrick Chevrolets

..... although it'd be quite-funny, I doubt NASCAR/Fudge-Hammer France would let him run a numeral with a decimal-point in it: besides, because it was a Budweiser commercial, A-B might have trademarked that number. :confused There are STILL some links at jayski that say Junyah will wear #3 at...

Dale Earnhardt Jr. expected to run No. 88 on Hendrick Chevrolets

..... it'll be pretty-hard to 'stroke' for 450 miles at Talladega and Daytona in Hendricks-prepared equipment..... ;) I 'think' Junyah changed his number to 6.7 in that commercial. :beer
