The optimal situation is to complete a job in a single day and the customer picks the car up when finished. This is not always the case. We have a parts warehouse and draw from our own inventory on at least 90% of the parts. For some reasons classic car owners are some of the worst customers and...
Sometimes it`s bad practice but a 50% deposit on parts and labor is not unreasonable. We practice this custom when the car requires more than a few hours and longer than just overnight and may require a few days or more. It`s to make the customer aware to pick the car up when finished. Many do...
I cant see it as anything more that it was initially built for. A entry level no frills Corvette you could buy without a bunch of options loading it down. A poor seller until they added the Z badges and even then nearly unsaleable. I counted close to 50 Z`s on Stanford's lot in Dearborn just...
Your Easy,
The M on your plug is a marine type. Probably used to get more change out those poor marinars. The same plug is a R44T or. you could also safely use R45T`s........:upthumbs
REPLATE!
I would recommend that you replate your originals. My only experience with repo parts was with the center grillbar on my 62 and it was a piece of junk. I wouldn`t even consider to put in on the Vette. I sent my original stuff out and it came back like new. Also I knew I wouldn`t have a...
For a Few Of Us
Yes, because some of us never have to work on these suckers. :D New record temperature at 81 yesterday and it prompted me to pull the cover off and crank the Duece up. A shot of either and it was immediately running by reaching through the window and turning the key. 76...
We made some from aluminum using the plastic originals as patterns and painted them satin black. They look identical and work great but I wont have any more broken....:D
Your OK
Dont worry about the heads. All the pieces are taken apart and cleaned in bulk and individually with out any reference to a particular position. The shop doing the job will notify you if there are any problens with the guides and seats. You will never wear out the seats in this lifetime...
I dont know what heads you have but they are not very good with most sets of headers. Some hot shots think flame travel or something like that is better with angles. I know I dont need them. My opinion of that is really not printable. Just put some more HP in the sucker with big tube primaries...
The only thing I use from our chemical inventory in the parts store is some carb cleaner for my 62 FI Vette. And this too is probably of dubious value. All the rest will only benifit the chemical company that makes it and raise the price per gallon of the pump gas. :upthumbs A lose, lose...
