cd5, thx for posting the Virginia law. Wonder if that means that the flashing light is grounds for a ticket... will need to look into that locally. grapeknutz, re the webelectric instructions... did you have a "1-wire" installation, or a "2-wire"? The guy at webelectric wasn't sure about the...

maybe so but if that soccer mom in her ford exploder 4' behind me reacts to my brake lights sooner, it may well be worth it!

Opinions wanted re: BackOff™ 3rd brake light flasher module

Opinions wanted re: BackOff (TM) 3rd brake light flasher module Hello all- It's a safety device sold by Eckler's for $45... wondering what the concensus is regarding its worth. It is a flasher module, about the size of a business card, that "installs in seconds" and causes the 3rd brake...

    Observation re: Parking brake

c4cruiser, Rear pads and rotors on my 95 are new. The parking brake problem persisted after they were renewed. The brake cleaner "fix" seems to do the trick for now; however, when it gets warmer outside I may pull the front seat to have a closer look at the parking brake mechanism (no garage...

    Observation re: Parking brake

Parking brake observation My pleasure, Ken. I hope it helps others. I had done a corvetteactioncenter.com search on this problem before taking the car to the shop; but what I saw in the information posted by others left me with the expectation of an involved repair. So I was relieved that the...

    Observation re: Parking brake

An interesting parking brake -related experience you might find noteworthy. I've been driving my 1995 LT-1 for about 3 wks now and loving every minute of it. Only 32,600 miles when I bought it and everything worked great with the exception of the parking brake, which would refuse to catch...

    Inexpensive under-hood light cutoff?

Happy new year everybody. Anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive cutoff for the underhood lamps? MADVet has a hood lamp switch for $40. + s/h but if a cheaper working fix is available, I'd prefer to go that route. Thanks.

    Kudos to Fichtner Chevrolet

Fichtner's is indeed a class organization. Part prices are outstanding, and customer service is great. If their service dept is as good as their parts dept, Corvette owners in Montana must have it made!

    What is THE best battery?

I would recommend DieHard in a heartbeat. The big advantage here is that Sears will generally install one while you wait... this gives you the opportunity to watch them do it. I like to slip the Sears "mechanics" a few bucks to help ensure a "quality" job (actually, to help minimize the...

    Broken nipple... cause for concern?

Loud and clear. The surge tank is a reasonably inexpensive part (approx $35. from Fichtner Chevrolet, Laurel, MT), so that's the way I'll go. Season's Greetings to all, and thanks!
