I never tried the midget, I thought the B was a more attractive car. What was funny was when Mazda was building the Miata, they spent many millions to try to make their muffler sound like the MG. They finally figured out how to, by placing sand in the muffler. Which spoke volumes about the...
Gorgon,
I agree that most of these bugs should be worked out. However, what we own are performance vehicles. The MGB's and Jensens I owned previously had their unique little quirks (some more than others). We learned to live with them.
I too have had problems with mine. But the overall...
I've owned several british sports cars in my life and honestly still want one. With my MGB's and Jensen, I learned that you only drive them as far as you want to walk. I wondered why in my first MGB they included a wiring diagram in the owners manual. I really good in finding and fixing shorts...
Mike,
First off, I think you posted in the wrong thread.
There is a button on your door that allows fresh air in.
One thing that chevy did was to reduce the number of parts for the c5, I'd bet one of the parts they purposely ignored was the vent.
Congrads on your new toy, there has been a great deal of debate concerning wax. Check out care and detailing forum. I personally use Zaino and like the results. It's a little more effort but it's worth it for me.
I concur with Mick. Frankly the y2k I have is great. I've heard that there are electrical problems with the 98 and 99. Oil consumption is dependent on how the car is driven when new. If you run it at 3k+ rpm for any long duration, you will burn oil. If you don't you won't.
I love my y2k, I had...
I've owned both a c4 and c5 and the c5 is much easier to get out of. But, I lost my c4 when I was double tee boned. The frame rail next to the seat of the c4 stopped an oncoming Ford Probe (no lie) and saved me from injury.
But the c5 does more than a c4. All around it is a better car.
Imho
Mike
With all due respect, Michelin is a french company. Also, as a Viet vet, I personnally would never do business with Michelin. I thought there were other tire co's making runflats for our beloved C5's.
Just my .02

The street sweepers did their job, so I finally took the toy out. WOW... Boy I missed driving it. Must have put 200 miles on it yesterday. It beats driving my beater any day.
Secondly I did find a job, not as a programmer yet but as a temp. So hopefully, I am all set for when the economy...
If a dog did that to mine, now I may not be an expert, but I would think that the dog has a mineral deficency. Not enough lead. As a caring human, I would endeavor to correct that situation.
Best of luck
Mike
Ih2lose,
Reached 70 yesterday. Didn't pull my toy off the blocks yet. Am waiting for the sand and pot holes to go away. Also waiting to go back to work. I might have one but it's an hour away and I ose about 40% of my prior salary, but after my 5 month "vacation", I can't wait.
Nor can I...
I'm with Daryl. You need time behind the wheel, otherwise up here I've heard rates for a teenager to drive a corvette of over 7k every 6 months. That kind of power with an inexperienced driver cost 5 people their lives in my town two months ago. Sure there was alcohol involved but I hope you...
The C5 is hard to steal. The only way I know is to use a flatbed truck and drag it up onto the flat bed. There may be other ways but I just don't know them. C4C5speciallist might be able to describe other methods.
I have Lowjack and I park it in known and secure areas. Specifically in garages...
I don't know, I think it kind of looks like the new GTO from what I remember what it's supposed to look like. If so, there goes the uniqueness of the Corvette.
:( :(
The C5 clutch is not too heavy and driving it in traffic is not bad. I owned a Jensen that had a much heavier clutch and drove that in DC rush hour traffic, though. The C5 is very manageable but I would recommend the Cags kit to avoid the 2nd to 4th lockout.
Now my problem that I have with...
Welcome to the forum.
I had the same problem with mine and had mine replaced due to the wear on the top. Check out http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16744&highlight=convertable+top for adjustment instructions.
I also do believe that there is a tsb on verts...
