    side pipes

I would recomend, if at all possible, to save some cash and get a set of ceramic coated hooker sidepipes. I don't know how old you are, but if you look really young, I would recomend waiting on the sidepipes a few years. The police seem to target young drivers in fast looking cars, loud pipes...

    weatherstripping

vy rear door I'm assuming your talking about "left body rear door glass" which is the strip that the back part of the side windows touch. I went with the delux kit when I did my 81, I would recomend doing it that way, it's all going to need to be replaced, why not do it all at the same time...

    rear end gears

Thanks a bunch!! I was just worried that because of the much lower price that they were going to wear out prematurely. My dad has done this sort of thing before so he is going to be helping me while I do it. The only reason that I'm doing this in the first place is because the rear is leaking...

    rear end gears

what do you mean they are "OK"? Do they not last as long as other gears? if it's a matter of the life of the gears I would rather wait and go with the more expensive ones if they would last a lot longer. Thanks for the help, -Chris

    rear end gears

I was wondering if this ring and pinion set would work in my 81. http://www.drivetrainsuperstores.com/store_detail.asp?id=558 I don't understand the difference between this brand and the brand that summit sells, are these gears cheaper quality or something? Thanks for the help guys! -Chris

    A good Corvette parts supplier

I've had good luck with corvette central, mid america, ecklers, and willcox. I usually use mid america, and ecklers to find what I want to get, since they have such great catalogs, and then buy from corvette central since they usualy have the best prices. -Chris

    Removing Tint - Rear Defroster?

At walmart they have window tint remover, I don't know if it only works with the tinting stuff they sell, or if it even works, might be worth a try anyway. -Chris

    rearend gears

I have an 81 with an RPM intake, headers, dual exhaust, 600cfm carb, and an auto trans. I was looking at replaceing the rearend gears this winter and was wondering what you guys suggest I should put in it. I use the vette for everyday driving in the summer, so I don't want anything too crazy...

    Engine Compartment Detailing

I used gas, and a paintbrush to remove all of the grime from the engine, and after that was all done I used a drill with a wire brush bit. to clean it up before painting. some of the areas are hard to get with the drill so be sure and go over it with a hand wire brush after. Next I cleaned it...

    power steering hoses

Thanks joe, I can always count on you. I ordered a new hose from ecklers (havn't used them yet so thought this was a good chance to try em out) that aluminum sounds like a good idea, when I get the steering back I may just take you up on that offer. Thanks again for the help! -Chris

    power steering hoses

I replaced the hoses at the beginning of last year, and I thought I put them on correctly, but, the low pressure hose now has a leak in it. It looks like the hose was melted a little bit. Could this have been because of the heat from the headers? Does anyone have pics of how these hoses...

    trans leak

First the good news, I put the vette in a car show saturday and won third place! I'll have a pic of the car with the trophy tommorow (if it's nice out). Now for the problem.... I had the vette up on the lift the other day to service it, and I was looking around the trans to see if I could find...

    cleaning alternators

I went to home depot and bought one of those polishing pads for a drill, and some polishing compund. That seemed to work well, but I was too lazy to take it off when I did it so only the top looks good =) Hope this helps

I have another problem, please help!

The problem with the computer (I think) is that since I had none of the emissions things attached to the computer it thought there was a problem or something so it wouldn't give the dist. any spark. by disconecting it from the dist the car fired right up. as far as the tach goes, I finaly...

wish I could buy that trans brace off of you, but I have no money at all, I have like 900 bucks charged on my credit card from this project. besides, the appointment to fix the exhaust is monday. Thanks guys, -Chris

    81 exhaust pictures

I don't really have the money to buy a new trans. crossmember. I have dynomax headers on. This last week saw a car at the weekly cruise-in place that had headers and had the exhaust run about the same as the MAD kit, I couldn't find the owner and didn't have a camara to take pictures either =(...
