I know I should have gone... but it just wouldn't feel right without having a Corvette to me. With as much of a success as this event is, I know it will be around in the future and I will attend one year.
I am really enjoying the pictures that people are starting to post already of the show...
Only 91k miles? Oh com'on, I know people have more miles on their original pump then that. On my 96 Z I have over 107k with the original pump and opti. I am really hoping to get a few more thousand out of it before I have to replace either. However, I do hear the water pump starting to chirp...
Just like the others, I couldn't agree more. As soon as I picked up my 76 Corvette I picked up the Haynes manual on my way home. Then about a week later I ordered the full Shop Manual for it. I could not believe the detail that is in the shop manual. The Haynes books are good for walking you...
When I had the 76 Stingray my air conditioning was taking the T-tops off. Might get a little sun burnt on your head but it still felt great cruising. Now in the LT-1 Camaro I always start my car with all the heating and air systems in the off position. That is a big engine with lots of things...
WoW, somone must have gone way back in the pages.... did anyone realize this thread is from August of 2004? I am guessing someone used the search feature. Either way, have a great day everyone and don't forget to wave.
That is really nice looking. Looks like you found a good buy. I've been thinking about starting a collection... I need some sort of hobby till I get another 1:1 scale version.
I believe he is talking about the "Heads up Display". It is pictured below in the auction. That is a pretty sweet deal. It says Jr. is upgrading his collection, that can only mean one thing..... Z06!
Pictures
I hope you don't mind if I put some pictures up here for you. This may draw more people in and let them see right away what they are missing out on.
One good lookin' 72 Split Rear Chrome Bumper.
I would consider this Corvette as I have been looking for a 73... however, the flares in the rear make me want to step back. For the price though this looks like a great car. If I had some spare cash I would probably steal the car from you (espically at the price you are asking) and convert...
Incrediable stable you got there. Those three look so good next to each other. You are a very lucky man to have four very understanding partners in your life. Just show them all the lovin that they deserve (espically the wife). Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures.
The car was used in the video "Sweet Emotion"

Lets see how much this FRC can be sold for.
Seems to be the real deal to me. Some guy that had a lot of money that wanted a Convertible Zo6 got exactly that. My only question is, why is he selling this beauty if he has put all this hard work into it? Is he thinking of getting the C6 Zo6 and creating another convertible?
With it being a 96 it means it has an OBD II system. I am not sure there is a way to turn the SES light off (other then removing the bulb from the dash) or clearing it without a scan tool. With the older OBD I system there was a way to read the codes by jumping two of the contacts together...
Is that rain water I see in the second (after) picture? Carefull... it might just melt all away. Looks great, now that you've started, it will never end, there will always be something to clean or change out for something prettier.
You have a great ride there Nickyg. I seem to have taken a step backwards. Had a Stingray and now have a F-body. I do plan to change that back around again someday. Good lookin ride, and just remember that when you take the top out to put the sun screen on.
Like Ed said, look behind the driver's seat in the compartment tray. Can be a bit tricky if the hookups are on the side of the battery, a little easier if they are on top. Good luck with your new 25th Anniversary Pace Car.
Greetings and welcome to the CAC. With my experience of having a Corvette while in College here are just a few things I would look at first. While in college you tend to move a lot from either dorm to dorm or dorm to apartments or frats. The Corvette can kind of restrict how much you can use...
