    A different headlight question

The only vacuum lines that I see connected are the PCV to the carb and the brake booster to the manifold. I might try removing the headlamps and then turning the headlights "on" to see what happens. I figure that if the rpms drop with the lamps removed, then there is some sort of vacuum leak...

    A different headlight question

Chris, I guess it's possible that the rpm drop is due to an increased load on the alternator due to the lights. But is that usual? I've never heard of a cars rpms dropping because of an increased electrical load. Any ideas how I could check? Vmrod, I had all vacuum disconnected from the...

    A different headlight question

Hey all, I got my headlights hooked back up tonight, yeah! After I confirmed that everything work I decided to unhook all the vacuum lines from the manifold, except for the brake booster. I had nothing connected to any manifold vacuum source and had the headlights in the open position. Now...

    Vacuum woes

Does anybody out here have a diagram of the vacuum system for a 77? My mechanic disconnected all the vacuum lines to my headlights and I need to reconnect them. The lines are in place and connected up to about the brake booster and then all the T's and connections are buggered up. Thanks in...

    No more NAKED REAR END!!!

Thanks Chris! I think I've decided that it is a non-functional L-88 hood. I guess someone makes the L-88 style hood without the opening at the windshield for fresh air intake. I'm wondering if I can open it up somehow and add the fresh airbox. Time will tell :) Russ

    No more NAKED REAR END!!!

Mike, The U-joint bolts on the passenger side yoke look a little close compared to the driver side. Neither yoke moves much, if any, but the passenger side bolts look pretty close. Russ

    No more NAKED REAR END!!!

I have taken it out a couple of times around the block. So far so good. The passenger side yoke is still really close to the diff. ear even though it doesn't move but 1/16". I have to adjust the camber of the wheels to even them out since I replaced all the bushings. Other than that it is...

    Can you ID this hood?

Sitting in the car all I can see is the fiberglass of the hood. There is definitely not an opening to the air cleaner. I've thought about opening it up as well, but I wanted to take a look at a "real" L88 hood to see how it is fortified. Thanks all, Russ

    Can you ID this hood?

I've seen the air box before, however, if you look at the foremost windshield side, you'll notice that there is no fresh air intake. The entire windshield side is solid and seals to the engine compartment. I don't know if others have had to remove fiberglass when installing the "air box" or...

Eugene, Any idea if it is possible to convert it to the fresh air breather? Russ

    Can you ID this hood?

Hey all, I'm wondering if anybody can positively ID this hood. It looks like an L-88 hood but there is no opening in the windshield side for fresh air to enter with the air box installed. Anybody got any ideas? http://home.houston.rr.com/cjandruss/Corvette/ Thanks, Russ

    No more NAKED REAR END!!!

Thanks everybody! This time Bullitt made it through without losing any limbs :) I was actuallly wondering if anybody knew if my hood was actually an L-88 style hood. I thought it was but I can't figure out how I would get the cold air into the hood. If anybody has any ideas, please let me...

    LT4 LT1 vs. LT4

An unmodded 97 C5 MN6 puts 295-305 hp to the ground, depending on atomospheric conditions. The drive train loss is only ~13-15%. I've seen quite a few dyno runs on stock C5's above 300hp at the wheels. Now the automatics do have an 18-20% power loss at the wheels. Russ

NCM Build Sheet vs. Window Sticker

Usually the sticker will have the cost of equipment including the installation labor, while the NCM sticker will only have the COST of the equipment. Just a possibility. Russ

True Dual Exhaust with Dual High Flow Cats and Flowmaster Delta 50's

Actually, the H-pipe is recommended for better low end torque and the X-pipe is recommended for better top end hp. Both X and H pipes are said to help reduce the "gurgle" and "popping" on deceleration. At least, that's what I've gathered so far. Who knows anyway. The tests that I've seen...
