    air cleaner clearance

Towel and Foil Good idea, Andre! :upthumbs I have a slight mod on that one-I use a bath towel, fold in half, and put a 12" X 12" foil sheet over the top. Then, you can really see the "touch points", and then go from there. If it's close, then don't fold the towel and check again...

    OK her she is (finally!!)

Wow! I guess I have been away too much lately. Getting ready to deploy to the Ice-6 weeks left. Congratulations, Patrick-I did not know of your new ride. And, congrats to you, Chris-very nice looking ride. Perhaps strange, I am not normally a fan of red, but ever since my tour of the Plant...

C4 Sales Values in the Toilet..confirmed

I'm with Igeaux You are a wise man, indeed, Spanish. That has been my philosophy as well. I have 2 '70 El Caminos I have had for several years now. I paid $600 for both-running vehicles. A guest at my home recently viewed them and is quite willing to give me what I want for one ($2K)...

    Thread sealer

Victory Red C6 is correct. Teflon tape works well. I also use it on the coolant drain and water pump pipe plugs. Your sending unit will seal just fine with it. 2 wraps is just right. Rick :gap

    72 coupe side vent question?

Welcome Welcome to the CAC! :CAC I have a late build '72 as well-June 13th. I have the egg crate side vents. I have never heard of any '72 being produced with the '73 "look" side vents. My hunch is someone wanted to "update" the look of the car in the mid-seventies and had it customized...

    Need replacement frame

Wow...! Good story, Barry. Please keep us posted. I, too would love to see this "body-off" in pictures. Very interesting. It's a darn shame that jerk who sold this car to a young man with a dream. He needs a swift, hard kick in the a$$. I would be happy to contribute to help this young...

    Need INFO!!!HELP!!

Blue with Red It is a unique color combination. I did see one like that at Cruisefest 2006 in BG. It was parked over at the hotel parking lot next to the Cruisefest hotel. BTW, Gadster, welcome to the :CAC You may be interested to know I have a similar situation. My '72 is Targa Blue...

BEWARE OF Corvette City Denver Co.\ Gary Steffens

No problem-happy to assist. I really like the fenders/glasswork on '67 Heaven's (Bob's) car, although I know you aren't shipping it to Canada. You might find out from him who built the flares, though. Just a thought. Good to hear you have gotten a credit on your Visa. That shop won't be...

BEWARE OF Corvette City Denver Co.\ Gary Steffens

Denver here... Hey Chuck - You need any help, let me know. I can pick up the fenders or whatever, no worries. I've never heard of these guys, but I have heard enough now.:mad Really like your project. That's gonna be one sweet beast.:upthumbs Rick :gap

Red Top...Yellow Top...Delco or Die Hard?

Red I am a big fan of the Optima red top. Have several of them in different cars. Anytime I need to replace a battery, it gets the Optima. I also have a camping trailer, equipped with 2 batteries. One blue top and a yellow top. They have great staying power. I can run the lights for days...

    Carb Adjustment

No, they won't fall into the cylinder. Those tubes meet with the heat crossover passage under the base of the intake and to the exhaust ports. The carbon will get blown into the exhaust manifolds and out the exhaust upon fire up. But, going to your other post-you could always yank the junk...

Long Sad Story With A Happy Ending

Good story. Thanks for sharing. Lucky for me, I have a very tolerant and loving wife as much into cars and motorcycles as I am. A real keeper-who has had her '67 GTO for 15 years. :D When I was losing passion for my '72 Chevelle SS (completed resto, sitting more than enjoying) and saw my...

    Carb Adjustment

It does make sense, it just seems odd that it started to happen after it was rebuilt, and seemed to work properly before it went to the shop. You could try disconnecting the tubes and running some baling wire and compressed air down the tubes. Or have the shop do it. red70Vette-they...

Corvette Action Center Loses a Valued Member

RIP, Ken I also never met Ken. But, I sure felt his enthusiasm in all things mechanical in his postings. He certainly seemed like a genuine, positive fellow. I enjoyed reading his sharing of knowledge. May he rest in peace, and I wish his family all the best in difficult times. :upthumbs...

    Minding my own business...

Now the '57?! Argghhh!:mad Copy all about respect. Someone sideswiped my '71 Nova, trashed the rear quarter (from door to bumper), no stop, no show, no respect.:mad Right in front of my house. But, I live in "the hood", lots of brown here, F-150's with stupid wheels/tires. And stereos...

    Minding my own business...

Oh, man! Very sorry to hear that. We have similar problems here with, er, "non-citizens" running around without licenses or insurance. :mad (I toned it down so this won't get tossed into The Edge) I hope she comes back looking good as new. :upthumbs And hey, a '57 for backup is cool...
