I have been given a new set of ceramic compound brake pads for my '96. Anyone have any experience with these? Better than stock? Worse? Better stopping distance?

My '96 Collector Edition was recently struck by another vehicle(:( ). Apparently, the OE replacement body panels (hood front quarter, bumper) will have this NHSTA sticker on them instead of the original VIN sticker. How will this affect future judging?:confused Can I get the original GM VIN...
