    Black Magic Tire Wet -EGAD!!!

Try using Wesley's Blech White. It will whiten up the letters and give the black rubber a nice new fresh look, without any shine. Which is the way tires should look. Paul

    RPO code Z52

The Z52 was available for coupe or convertible, manual or automatic. The Z51 was coupe and manual only. The Z52 included most of the goodies from the Z51 as you mentioned like the booster fan, oil cooler, turning ratio, Bilstein shocks, bigger radiator, etc. but had the softer suspension of...

    Another new proud C4 owner

Welcome to the group. There is no thrill like your first Corvette. And it sounds like you have a beauty. A convertible in Southern California, both tops, six speed, how much better can it get? Have a great ride. Paul

    Major problems with my 97 C5! H E L P!!!!!

I had the same problem with my 98 and it turned out to be the accelerator pedal transducer. They changed out the pedal assemble and the problem was solved. Hope you get the situation taken care of.

    California Emissions

We may both be wrong but I belive Tom is correct. A certain number of cars shipped into California are pulled for extensive smog testing. There is no physical difference in the cars, just the amount of testing.

    Battery Draining

Most of the Corvette supply houses (Mid-America, Ecklers, Corvette Central, etc) sell manuals for Corvettes of all years. Good Luck.Paul

    Battery Draining

I had the same problem on my 79 and I suggest you get the Chevrolet shop manual which has very good wiring diagrams in it. I chased through every circuit and finally isolated it to the buzzer warning unit. As I recall, this part cost about $25.00 and is very easy to replace. Everything plugs in...

    Low Tire Pressure Warning

That should solve your problem. The tires should be at 30psi cold. The low pressure sensor is set to trigger at 24psi. If your tires were at 25-26psi, then any drop in temperature would cause you to get the warning. Happy Vetting. Paul

    Low Tire Pressure Warning

When you say the tire pressure is good, what do you read when the tire is cold? Paul

    Headlight woes

There is a great article in the November issue of Corvette Magazine on mid-year headlight problems and repairs. Worth a read and keeping for future problems. Paul

    C5 Bra - Recommendations??

Tom, probably the best bra is from Speedlingerie. Expensive as all good things are. You can find them at Mid-America or their own web site. The price is $500-550 and they come in matching Corvette colors. Good luck in the shopping. Paul

Rim damage after new tires installed

I had the very same problem with my local Goodyear dealer. He said he was runflat qualified by Goodyear which turned out not to be true. The repairs on my Fikse wheels cost him $1600.00 to repair, not including the shipping charges back to Fikse which he also paid. If anyone is having tires...

    new owner with a question

Welcome to the CAC and the Corvette community. I am sure you will enjoy both. The rattle you hear is normal and due to the length of the drive shaft back to the transaxle. It also rotates at the engine rpm due to the direct connection from engine to transaxle. I had the same sound in my 98 and...

    GM buying back C4's!!!????

I just got the same letter on my 79. Nice little maketing scheme from GM to have their dealers look up Corvette owners (and other brands I'm sure) and offer to "buy back" their car because of high demand for that year! Yeah, right! There is a higher profit in used cars than new ones so your...

How many miles are the C5 engines usually reliable for?

The L98s in the early C4s had some engines documented at over 400,000 miles. With the six speed transmissions and resulting lower rpms at speed, the advance in materials, and the use of synthetic oils, the C5 engines with proper maintenance as outlined in the above posts should certainly reach...

How many 2003 anniversary models made

[price) when suddenly he turns to me and my buddy and says" Anyway if YOU don't buy it,I will sell it at the "dealers' auction" in a couple of weeks".........I turned to my buddy who was in a state of bewilderment(sp) and said "I didn't know dealers could sell their vettes at maximum retail...

How many 2003 anniversary models made

You are correct in that those numbers are for the Anniversary Edition(AE) package only which included the Anniversary Red color. This was RPO#1SC for both the coupe and convertible. All models had the 50th badging on the hood but only the AEs had the 50th badge on the front fenders also. Hope...
