    Tire pressure sensors

With apologies to the OP since this does not apply to our C5s (at least I don't think so). Anyway on a racing forum the questions was asked why even run a TPMS system on a C6Z06. Apparently if the ECM can't read a sensor the car defaults to a "flat tire" mode and you cannot turn off any of the...

    What a pain

Does the C6 have udders that need to be cleaned out also?

    Help! ???brakes???

After 46k miles on my C5 and still on the OEM brake rotors/pads I'm in the market for some bling brakes. While I don't track my C5 (various racing forum posts really frown on drilled/slotted rotors and recommend stock type solid rotors) I do occasionally run autocrosses whcih should not...

Pontiac reaches end of the line

Didn't the Fiero run a race series quite successfully in the mid-80's; Trans Am perhaps? Quite a few ran successful SCCA Solo II (autocross) programs in various configurations (stock, prepared, modified). Can't say I was successful but I ran my '85 GT in Solo II until I was offered a ride in a...

    C5 Great Driving Music

The Door's "Light my Fire" (long version) was my teenage driving music. Use to play it between my friend's house and mine to see if I could get home before it ended (or the 8-track unraveled :rotfl). Boy that really makes me feel old!!! :confused

Pontiac reaches end of the line

Sad to see Pontiac go. Had a Fiero GT which probably would have been the mid-engine Vette if it was allowed to be developed past the fire trap it was. Also had several Grand Prixs and Bonnevilles for daily driver duties over the years and was working on getting a G8GT for sedan duties until GM...

    Drive With No Hood ?

Wonder if your gas mileage would go down from more drag.

All tire pressure sensors read XXX

Update Got all ready to do the relearn...and nothing happened with the first one (LF). So hit reset then for the hell of it went to gauges and viola...the pressures were back. Sometimes this Corvette can drive me crazy! ;LOL Lets see what happens in a day or 2. Maybe it is time to replace all...

All tire pressure sensors read XXX

Went on a 75 miles drive today and checked the tire pressures about 10 miles into my drive. Pressures read 28 all around which is about 2lbs lower than my dial gauge read a couple of days ago. After about 50 freeway miles checked again (I check often since I run non-runflat Kumho MXs and want...

..Then, suddenly, ther apeared , in my rear view morror..

I still think the best "in your rear view mirror" look is still a C5 with the amber DRLs. Just looks cool coming up behind you especially when you're not in your vette. Always wave them by:w

    Gas Mileage

How about this for mileage? On my road trip to the Black Hills Corvette Classic this July. My wife and I along with our 2 doxies, travel kennel and a full cargo hold. Dash photo taken on Hwy 50 in Nevada - long straights and empty blacktop. '07 Coupe F55 A6 very stock except for K&N air filters

    What is your "other car"

I am happy, proud, boastfull and not a bit ashamed to say my other car is a '07 C6 MS A6 coupe to go along my '01 TR M6 coupe. Wife would say it's her car but a drove it all but a 1/4 -tank on our recent 4,016.9 mile road trip to the Black Hills Corvette Classic from Napa, CA. So I got the seat...

What tires are you running and why?

Looked at many different tires to run autocross without going to a R-rated tire. I wanted a duel purpose tire (street and autocross) and for the price found the Kumho MXs to be a good compromise. Not perfect and always behind R-rated equiped vettes but as good if not better than the more...

    Dont forget to wave!!!!!

When I'm in my "non-vette" I just give vettes a thumbs :upthumbsup but always give a wave when I'm in my vette.:w

    Stone chips on hood/paint

Something to live with unless you go clear bra (film). Also if you do any back roads driving in 2 laners don't tailgate (on freeways also for that matter). Plus when you tailgate I may miss you/not see you and not wave.:w

Drive your Vette to work day?

While I normally would not drive my vette on Fridays (getting out of town traffic heaviest on Fridays) I'll make it a point to drive it on 6/26...and I'll get the wife to drive GRMSVT that day too.

    I finally got my Corvette!!!

Welcome to the CAC. And yes you can put a small sized "lechon" in the back.:upthumbs

    Painted helmet

Thanks. I'm actually picking up the finished helmet on Tuesday. The pictures I had on another vette site were "in progress" shots. So, I'll wait till I get the helmet back and take pictures then. I'll p.m. you if I can't figure it out. I plan on having the painter take finished shots then email...
