That $2 shirt with the Corvette logo on it won't have an official GM approval on it. What's the word I'm looking for? Copywrite? Trademark? GM works very hard to make sure that all products with the Corvette name and/or Logo has their approval (and their $$$ cut of the profits - which is what...
I've never installed an "eliminator" on my '01 M6 and learned early on to avoid the skip shift. It doesn't take much throttle to get past the point when the CAGS forces you into 4th. And until recently I drove it frequently in HEAVY traffic. One day my 50 min commute from Napa to Pt Richmond, CA...
Daniel,
Check out your local vette club. Look up the Santa Clara Corvettes web site at sccorvettes.org
I'm sure the membership there can turn you onto a local Corvette shop in your area. I know there is at least one on your neighborhood. You may even get a member or two to help you DIY :upthumbs
Please correct me if I'm wrong Hib, but doesn't every option or non-option for that matter (power windows vs crank windows for example) require its own passing of a federal standard? I can almost see a "lighweight" manual window crank being so over engineered to pass some standard that GM would...
Fortunately dealer stickers/emblems not usually seen on California sold cars. We get enough ugly license plate frames with the dealer name on them though. :cool
Was that my problem with the MX's. Wondered why they got worse instead of better as they heated up. Hoo$iers for me too if I can pry the $$$ away from the bo$$.
Have you tried a fuel system cleaner such as Chevron Techron? C5s had a lot of problems with their gas gauges traced to the sulfer content (too much) in some gases. A tank or more of premium Chevron could also help. If not then maybe you DO NEED to replace your sender;help
Remo,
How long ago were you on the West Coast? Haven't run SCCA since about '92-93 when we sold our SCCA BP '68 Roadster 350CI 4sp. Ran Solo regularly since late 70's with my highlight 1986 BP Solo II runner-up in Salina, KS. Still remember that last pylon I clipped which dropped me from 1st...
C5s have a known defect in the seats. Look up threads regarding this "rocking seat" problem. Fix is supposed to be simple once seats have been removed from the car but that in itself complicates matters.;help
No I probably won't see snow in Napa but I wanna mod this winter away.
Currently: 01 Coupe M6 F45 with B&B PRT catbacks, K&N filter with zip tie mod (open air box), repro Z06 wheels with Kumho MX tires. Good street handler; can't put the power down most autocross courses.
Solutions: repro...
I had many battery related problems before changing out the posts. Some say that the stock battery post are too long for aftermarket batteries and the negative post does not maintain a good contact because of this. Bought new posts ($3.xx) for a pair at your local parts shop and saw they were...
Surprised that the Pontiac Fiero did not make the cut. Just as Pontiac was solving engine fires and other quality control issues GM killed it. Loved my 1985 GT. Could have been a Corvette killer if developed further :rotfl
Didn't quite have a "great time" since my street Kumho MXs not quite having the same stick as Hoosiers. But I refuse to trailer or change tires; been there, done that. But I did have a great time :chuckle
