Very unlucky to pick the ONE that's the wrong offset! But at least you figured it out. I have 9.5 on the front and 11's on the rear, with the right offset there should be NO problem!!
Blame the shipper!
Longest I've done is a 500 mile trip to Carlisle in one day this past August, with the sport seats in my 88 roadster and 315's on the rear (looks good) who the heck cars about gas mileage? It was just a joy to drive and enjoy!
scav, thanks for the thought! The person I talked to at the track had the same idea as you, but didn't explain it as well as you have. There may be some truth to what you have typed and I will be doing some investigating when I put the car up for the SNOW season. Right now it's still on the road...
The track is the only place I have ever seen it happen. It's really the only place it is really driven hard into and out of corners repeatedly and wide open throttle for any length of time. I have never seen it on the street but I do occasionaly drive it hard there also, since the smoke IS...
There's about 75K Miles on it and the previous owner was a woman who had had it for 2 years (sedately driven). Before that I don't know the history, but I can imagine it has been driven hard sometimes, but not as hard as I'm doing it on the track! I guess a compression check would be in order?
I have never seen any smoke on startup, so I can't see it being the valve seals. It never is low on oil as I check before I take it out. It is a garage queen and I only take it out on sunny days, and then promptly drive it hard. Dry roads are more fun!
I have an 88 Red/Roadster with 5 spoke chrome rime. 9.5 x 17 front and 11 x 17 rear with 315's on the 11 x 17 inch rear rims. They stick out a bit but I really like the look of them!!!! When the camera gets back from repair and I can figure out how to post pictures I will be posting them...
This past Saturday while doing laps in my 88 roadster (driving it real hard) I had a very large cloud of blue smoke out the rear of my car. This was at the end of WOT and a long straight away. I thought I had an oil leak but after some investigation I couldn’t find one and the oil level was NOT...
I'll give it a try in the morning, I think I know what you mean now about the pin locking system. Thanks for the help, but do you know where I can get some pins?
Thanks again
I understand about the tang, I have the manual in front of me but the secondary lock I don't see or I'm not sure about? I have had no luck finding a replacement connector, tried a NAPPA supplier today but no luck there. 55$ Cdn for a plastic connector with three pigtail wires coming out of it is...
GM wants 55$CDN for the connector that powers the power antenna relay? Part number 12085538 I have yet to confirm the part number. I have the manuals and will start to try to understand them! How do you get the terminal out? I tried but was unsuccessful. It appears the one contact with two red...
