    b.i.y. air pump eliminator

G.M. would never have bothered installing it if under some circumstances it was not necessary and if you get the wrong inspector he could become a royal P.I.T.A., but Ive seen no advantage to having it and pass emmission testing just fine when we had to do that.

    b.i.y. air pump eliminator

"So Grumpyvette, there is actually no purpose for the Air Pump to be there ?" IN theory exhaust EMISSIONS are lower but I saw zero change when removing it after testing both ways

    new vette, have some questions.

normal, depends on several factors, its state of tune, how you drive, type of oil, etc. but you want it to reach at least 215f on occasions to burn off moisture and anything under 240f is fine, even expected and normal, for short runs while you drive hard, most stock vettes have the oil temp of...

1990 VETTE NOT GETTING ANY SPARK

theres several potential reasons but the first thing Id do is pull the trouble codes, then replace the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block near the distrib, after making sure theres a good battery and the cars engine spins freely read thru this it will help isolate the problem...

    Another oil temp question

OIL NORMALLY SHOULD run 15-20 degrees HOTTER than coolant, at least briefly durring any time the engines running , remember its the oil thats in dirrect contact with the hot moving parts like pistons and rockers, rings and valve springs, and oil NEEDS to reach a MINIMUM temp of 215F to burn off...

    Oil Filters

the hole sizes in the filter have little or any effect because the total cross sectional area is more than the oil pump to block passage, and filter to block cross sectional area in most cases http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilterstudy.html http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/...

IVE HEARD THIS BEFORE... I have that same harbor freight leveler. I allows me to swap the complete engine and trans in by myself, but the hand crank is a bit of a pain. I wish I had with a nut on one end so I could use air tools to turn the crank. The hand crank can get hard to turn near...

engine crane mods that make life easier

for many years Ive used an engine crane in the shop to pull engines, and it became very obvious that some mods to the system were darn near MANDATORY, adding an engine leveler and swivel to your engine crane makes things far easier adding a swivel like this between the leveler and crane...
