1993 Service Ride Control | SRC Code 14

Today, my plan was to reassemble the console and then either tackle the driver's side window regulator (and lock mechanism while I've got it apart) or see what was up with the Service Ride Control light. The latter won out due to commitments for Dad's Taxi Service. The SRC light has been coming...

    Lateral Accelerometer service

The DLC76 seems to be fixed. (Long Post Warning!) "Man, these cars are a weird mixture or electric and electronic technologies" Issue: Service ABS and Service ASR lights illuminating regularly.Initially pulling the codes showed a 72 (history) and 76 (current) set. On clearing the codes, a...

    Lateral Accelerometer service

I'll pull the codes tomorrow. Started on the "76" today as the replacement lateral accelerometer came in. I got as far as taking apart the shifter when I discovered that my snap-ring pliers weren't long enough. Tomorrow's another day. Jerry Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk

    Lateral Accelerometer service

Truth being stranger than fiction, I lucked out with a bid on eBay last night and scored a red FSM set for less than $50, which is about what I paid for the one I have now. There's no doubt in my mind that it's been worth the money. I knew the white one was a prelim version but at the time I...

    Lateral Accelerometer service

What I'd really like is the knowledge of how to decipher the locations from the FSM! Failing that, small words and pix might work. Seriously though, I think I just haven't found where to look in the book. Or I've run into one of the issues with having the preliminary edition...

Preparing vette for long distance transport

The only time I trailered my '93 was to get it from NW PA to Maryland by DC. It was spring, and the weather was OK but there was some rain and ice, IIRC. I used a standard UHaul open trailer. I had no issues whatsoever. I ran the thing through the car wash and had it detailed within a day or...

    Lateral Accelerometer service

Thanks again, man! Yes, I ordered a used accelerometer. Thanks for the tip about running the table again. There's a promise that the part won't be DOA but probably not a warranty. They're not exactly common but neither do they appear to be extinct yet. One thing that maybe you can help me...

    Lateral Accelerometer service

Thanks Hib. I've ordered the part at this point. I used a the GM cart in a MasterTech to run through the charts in my FSM, but just wanted to make sure. The car is an odd combination of analogue and electronic so I'm never sure whethger or not small parts can be serviced. Best, Jerry Sent from...

I'll plan on it. The vats issue can be programmed around, AFAIK. But that means going the whole programming route before I do the 'droid work. Actually, come to think about it, I've got almost everything I need except for a chip burner, chips, and the piggy-back adapter. So that part might...

    Lateral Accelerometer service

Thanks. I'll do that. It's a long stranding problem and didn't go away the last time I did fluids, but it's worth another shot. Best, Jerry Sent from the mobile client - Forum Talker

Thanks! Oddly enough, I pulled the misbehaving amp out entirely on Monday and, when I disassembled the case, it looked like new. I went ahead and pulled the passenger side box as well and switched them around, so I know that it's the amp and not the wiring or speaker. I also did some more...

Hi Folks, I'm keeping track of my car projects over here if you're interested. Nothing too out of the box, but I thought folks might like to share. Comments welcome. Best, Jerry

Sys on Dash, now it won't start.

This should be in the tech forum. Perhaps an @mod can move it? Anyway, pull the codes first. Look around for how to do that. If there are any, they might point you in the right direction. If you don't have one, this would be a good time to pick up an FSM as all of the codes and trouble...

    Help! Drivers Side Window

One other note. If it's not the switch and you decide to go the motor route, rather than the whole regulator, be aware that at least some of the replacement motors have a different switch position. I received one of these from eBay and it will not fit. Apparently, it's supposed to come with a...

    Help! Drivers Side Window

In my case this was the regulator. Disassembling the door and tapping the motor on the regulator restored it to life for a bit. Also, you can pull the power connection, clean it out, and give it another try. If you must replace it, make sure the unit is in stock. Eckler's had the best price...
