The two upstream actually do the adjusting, the downstream (rear) check that the cats are working. Again mileage on the car determines if you should replace all four. But I myself worry a lot less on the back ones. Good idea to replace the front two. My opinion anyway.

Yeah, ethanol free wawa does have near me however if I'm not mistaken that fuel has a lower octane? I used it in my bike and it didn't like it. I had to revert back to the premium (10% alcohol). I haven't tried it in the vette yet, have to check the octane again.

The bad thing is that you don't remember if it worked before or not, this could have eliminated you from taking it back out and checking the wiper against the increment embeded metal. I didn't do one in the vette but I did just do one my truck and I would assume the sending unit works the same...

Thanks all, glad I asked. Gonna flush the block and radiator with some fresh water. Book says take the thermostat out when doing this but it sort of contradicts itself saying to run the fresh water through just till the thermo opens. Maybe they mean remove the stat just for the draining process...
