clean your maf sensor with some of that aerosol electrical spray cleaner stuff. gunk makes the one i use. spray it on the wires and let it dry. do not touch the wires with your fingers or anything else.
i guess it really wasnt that technical at all. i just bought 2 actuators off of ebay. one for 50 the other for 60. came off a 94 with 60k miles. same as mine. i got one front and one rear. hope that does the trick. thanks for your 'splainations.
excellent explaination. heres a monkey wrench. first codes i got were 13, left rear time out. 14, right front time out. 32, right front out of position. to see what a working shock and actuator looked like i took off the left front. pointed the actuator towards me and turned the key. yes it...
thanks. one less thing. now the codes i pulled say "out of position" and "time out". the manual explains it but not in plain english. can someone 'splain that to me?
service ride control lights been on. pulled codes. removed actuator. reading service manual. "turn spline gear on shock absorber with fingers. can you turn it 1/4 turn?" yes i can. question is now that ive turned gear and removed the actuator, how do i know what position the gear was in(now that...
very true. i have sirius satellite radio and it is not as loud as having the cd player or radio on. you do lose some quality and power with an fm modulator. having a casette adapter is the best way to go. however, cars with casettes are getting pretty rare and people like me who had a casette...
they sell a FM modulator for the ipod. choose an unused radio station and the ipod will transmit through that station. BUT, if there is static you will hear it. get the itrip. its wireless and a huge convienence. i thinks its only $40.
95k on an opti? wow. you got your moneys worth. i was hoping for less miles. mines got 61k and im thinking its gonna be the next thing to crap out on me. thanks for your response and good luck.
went to autozone for a scan. scanner wouldnt read. it was one of those hand held ones. the guy said it was because it was an obd2 connecter but obd1 internals. i think hes right. he said i needed to go to a shop where the had the big machines. so i made an appointment at a real mechanic for friday.
cleared codes last night. abs light never went off . but the service engine light did. drove to work and the engine light came on again. however it goes off when stopped at a red light.
i cleared all codes as instructed by the service manual. i did it two ways. one required jumping the 12 and 4 port and fiddling with the eng/met and trip od buttons. the other way i jumped the 12 and 5 ports and fiddled with the buttons. next i disconnected the neg terminal for an hour. started...
abs light and service engine light came on going to work today. came home jumped dlc. instead of lights flashing for codes the codes came on the speedometer! cool. codes are as follows,
1. c12 i know thats normal.
H29
4. ---
9. ERR
A.---
1.0
im trying to find the codes but this...
you guys have a lot of nerve *****in about the heat. it was 117 in vegas all last week. i find the earlier you work on it, the better it will look. plus its easier on your arm. bite the bullet and get up extra early.
i think prior to the lt1 (92) there were coolant lines that fed into an adapter on the oil filter. i know this because that adapter came off along with the oil filter when i changed the oil for the first time on my 91. if im wrong somebody will correct me!
first off. you will be very happy with sirius. i have a convertable and this is how i did it. i ran the antenna wire down in where the windshield meets the dash. run that till you hit the "A" pillar. i used the passenger side. you can hide the wire in the pillar under the weatherstripping. you...
i finally got it to work. jvc makes my satellite receiver and they think the white striped wire means positive! and i thought gm makes some dumb mistakes.
i just cut the wires for the satellite radio power supply. the aux power has 3 wires. orange, brown and black. orange is power, black neg and brown is ground? or black ground and brown neg? im getting power on the voltmeter from the three wires. but when i hook up the satellite radio no power...
