    Recomendations on C2 trailer

First recommendation is tow with a different vehicle, preferrably one with more power and suspension for towing. If not possible I would go with the aluminum open bed trailer with electric brakes. The highland hybrid wieghs a fair amount (over 5600lbs) but does not have the power or suspension...

Larry, Still curious if the 700 is stock? if not what have you done to beef it up? Thanks Chuck

    Richmond or tremic

Also here is a link on the 200 tv cable adjustment that has always worked good for me, everthing I see looks like the 700 is the same: http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/transmission/tvcable.html Again I would just hard wire it and use a toggle switch. Chuck

Larry, Is your 700 stock? What converter do you have and does it have anti-ballon plate? From you hompage I see you have a 454 LS6 so I am assume it is putting out a few ponies and torque. If you have a stock 700 I didn't think the tranny will hold up for long with full throttle runs with...

    Richmond or tremic

I would really look into a 200r4 over a 700. 200r4 are stronger, more heavy duty aftermarket parts, have a taller overdrive gear, with how light the vettes are we don't need the lower 1st gear, and gears are more even spread out.

    Driveline Angles?

Thanks John, I still need to order my driveline, do you know what the biggest dia. shaft the stock tunnel will hold? Chuck

    Driveline Angles?

I was checking my angles on the tranny(pan mounting surface and tailshaft end) and starter mount surface. Shouldn't they give me the same angle? Mine do not, I get 3 degree on the starter surface and 0 degree on the tranny pan surface or tailshaft end. I tried the oil pan and I also get 3...

Larry, If you doing 140 and it feels like it's shift down to a passing gear then either the tv cable is not adjust right (see here for more info: http://www.tvmadeez.com/article/index.php) or something with your painless lockup kit is wrong as maybe it's unlocking the converter. I see they use...

Larry, Not sure if the 700 is the same as the 200r4 but I bet it's in your shifting points and lockup if you have lockup convertor. As for the lockup you should be able to adjust it thru the computer. I would bump 3rd and 4th up about 4-5 mph on the computer. The computer might also let you...

    Tech Center Question

Rob, That sounds good, I will start putting together some articles that would help. Most what I have for drivetrain will be mods,( installing a 200r4, fuel injection lines and tank, tom's differential vs stock pic, single master cyl to dual with Inline's kit-just master cylinder,distribution...

    Tech Center Question

Rob, I think knowledgebase would be fine. Maybe you could post a poll on where most would like it. Here is a link to the gn website that may give you some ideas: http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/photoguideindex.html If you browse the the menu bar titled "technical articles" top left, it...

    Tech Center Question

If someone was to gather info on "how-to-do's", is there a way to enter the information in the tech center as a how to do. Maybe have a drop menu with sections like: Suspension, Body adjustments, Engine, Tranny, Specs (Torque specs), Mods (max tire size, ride hieght, aftermarket steering...

Installing shims on offset trailing arms?

I measured the bushings and the width of the old ones were 2 5/16 and the ones are 2 1/2. Also my shims that I recieved from volunteer vette are rectangler in shape and a lot longer then the ones pictured in pauls67 post. So I need to order new ones or cut these down. Where do you get the...

Installing shims on offset trailing arms?

I am installing shims on new offset trailing arms and have two problems: 1. I am trying to install the same width shims as I took out but I can not get no where the size in. I am figuring that the new bushings are wider then the old ones and I am reducing each side by the same amount and...
