I've made purchases from Eckler's and haven't had a problem with them. I don't make all my Corvette purchases through them, I also use Mid-America, Zip-Corvette, and Year One. All-in-all, I've only had one item on back order which took 1 month to receive. I wasn't in a hurry for that item so...
I have parking brakes! What a humbling experience. Something so simple causing a grown man to sweat. You're photo description is almost exactly the same as what's in the '66 manual. All it took was a flat head screwdriver and about an hour.
Thanks Junk! :beer
Whoops! Sorry Junk and Tom. I had no idea the parking brake had to be adjusted. I'll check the repair manual to get the proper steps on how to do this. I would rather try to do the repair myself before I think about sending it out for repair. According to something I read, there is a...
I've got 4 wheel disc brakes on the '66. When the parking brake is pulled "up" the front and rear cables are tight but the parking brakes won't hold. ;shrug
I recently replaced the front parking brake cable. Now the parking brake won't engage. The parking brake handle will pull up the slack but the cable to either side of the rear brakes will not budge. The parking brakes worked before the front cable snapped. Any help will be appreciated.
Check Kelley Blue Book for retail pricing. Did you get a CarFax report? $26,000 is close to what a private party would be asking for an '03 Z06 in this economy so I'm sure a dealer is going to want to make a profit on the sale.
There is really no sure-fire way to keep your cars safe. If someone wants it badly enough they'll take it. I do have alarms on both of my Corvette's and up-to-date insurance. I also carry a Glock.
I had a catalytic converter go out within 12k miles, the passenger door window motor, and the infamous steering lock service recall. Other than that it's been ok.
I've always wanted to see a Corvette with the engine behind the occupants. Although I don't think it will happen with the C7, I am hoping for it to eventually be reality.
I can't say for sure that Slime or Fix-A-Flat would ruin your sensors but both would make a mess and have to be removed when you get the tire taken in to have it patched from the inside. Both of those are temporary fixes. I've got non-runflats and keep a plugger kit in the car. There are a...
Your inside mirror should "darken" when you activate the dimming button. It should kind of look like what you'd see with the older style mirrors when you flipped the switch from day to night. You're outside drivers mirror should do the same thing. I don't believe it has any control on the...
My Z06 doesn't have run flats and I didn't want to use that slime stuff to repair a puncture so I went on-line and order the Pocket Plugger kit from Stop and Go. If the C5 you're looking at buying has non run flats you're going to have to buy a small portable compressor to go with the repair kit.
The dealer you talked to gave you bad info. After you've been given a citation for no front plate all you have to do is put a front plate on and show it to an officer who will sign off your citation. Depending on which county in Calif you reside bail amounts (fines) will be different, you still...
Thanks Verle. I had been told it was Ermine White and tried locating info on it online and found a few sites had it as Polar White and Arctic White which threw me off. :w
Can anyone tell me what color this paint code represents? 972AA
I've been told it's Ermine White and Polar White. I need a spray can of touch up paint and don't know which one to get. ;shrug
