Always thought that the 81 wheel center caps with the aluminum wheels where all chrome...but now I am thinking I am wrong and they should be black as the rear window trim is black.....or do I have that wrong??? So what is the rear window trim and wheel center caps....black or chrome????

Repainting is the only thing I have NOT done to my car....what is a typical paint job on these cars cost...with only a very minor repair (stress crack on pass fender)? As this would be the 2nd repainting, it would need to be taken down to glass probably?? I put all new weatherstripping on...

Oil leak fixed. It was a combination of loose oil pan bolts and the engine oil dipstick. Have tightened and replaced....all is really good now. Would like a better off idle response than I have, so some additional fine tuning of the carb is likely needed.

I ended up getting a Mr, Gasket (made in china) chrome dipstick. With modifications I was able to get it to work. So I am back on the road again.

I think the 79 is on the driver's side??? If on the passenger side, then it should fit. Send me a price. Thanks

I ended up breaking the lower spot welded bracket off the stock engine oil dipstick tube...now it has little holes and no support at the base. Anyone have a good replacement? Thanks

UPDATE on this thread: Oil leak is not intake manifold or rear main seal. Possibly the dip stick tube or somewhere above the starter. Still looking. After getting two lower compression readings I decided to take the valve covers off and check / re-do the lash setting. Took the dist cap off...

I know my coolant temp is under 200F, right at 180F. Oil pressure is just above 40psig at idle or driving. I will get a read on the oil temp this weekend and post. Getting a freeze plug out is not easy...have to drive then into the block, then squeeze it a bit, then pull it out using pliers...
