Sounds like what #4 is refering to is the button under the dist. cap. If so, yes you would have to have the cap off and enough slack in the ingition wire to have it still connected to perform this test while cranking the engine. I personally have never had to do this test before since I've...
If the "pick up" is bad, you have to remove the dist., drive the pin out to remove the dist. gear and slide out the dist. shaft to replace. Or just replace the whole distributor. It sounds like that is what is causing you the trouble. But I would still check to see that the new parts you have...
With the ignition on, do you have power to the "Battery" terminal of the distributor cap?
If so, check the coil.
If the coil checks out ok, could be the ignition module has gone bad inside the distributor.
They're really proud of that one, aren't they?
Seems priced pretty high for a car with that many miles.
Check around and most of all be patient. There are good deals out there.
I paid 32k for my '03 MY Z06 w/ 14k miles on it still under factory warr. Verts are generally priced about...
I would expect a Z06 of any matching year to a Jag would out run the Jag. But something else to consider here is that the Corvette was not just designed to be a top performer in straight line speed, but also in outstanding stopping & cornering ability.
0-60 or 1/4 mile times don't necessarily...
Speaking from personal experience since I own two C4's, a C3 & a C5, don't invest your money into a car that already has very little market value. The odds are against you recouping on your investment especially on a Corvette model that gets very little respect as far as the popular market...
Just FWIW, there is a cut off from the earlier vettes where the tops don't interchange with the later models. I'm thinking '87 or '88 is when the mounting locations changed. Maybe someone else could verify the correct year when they changed.
I have an Air Hog in my 86 and a K&N in my 95. Don't really think I can tell the difference between the two, or if I can tell any difference between them and the paper. No seat of the pants difference that's for sure. I guess it all depends on how you choose to spend your money.
I finally had a chance to pull the O2 sensors and again the left side is covered with soot. Realizing that not long after getting this car in 2002, I had a sensor go bad. Since I had a mechanic doing the work at the time, I told him to go ahead and replace both. I'm thinking that it is a...
I'm looking for the headliner trim pieces that go between the t-tops and the rear hatch. If anyone has a resource to obtain these parts or knows of a 82 CE in salvage, please pass the info along to me.
I don't believe there are repro parts for these since they are unique to the Collector...
Well that all depends on what Ford & GM injectors your refering too. Not all GM injectors are 42lbs. My '86 had 22# stock GM and my '95, I believe has 26# stock GM injectors. The automobile manufactures have different flow injectors for different models & years of cars. I think the injectors...
