Mine's not a vert ... but I have your twin. One of 18 with the red interior and the Z51 suspension, LT4, ZF 6speed. I wish I had room for a twin. :_rock:cool:cool:cool:lou
I hear ya D. I used to have a 57 to 63 mile one way, depending on the route. That old '90 always ran better either when I got to work, or got home. WooHoo time for crusin' the beach. :cool:lou:cool

I would lube both of them. It does get pretty warm around the intake, and you wouldn't want the orings to break down. Plus the lube helps keep from pinching one of them during installation.

Any silicone lubricant that is non hardening. Don't go overboard with it. I like Parkers Super O-Ring Lube. You just want them to silde gently into the bore.

Yes the rear wheel bearings are NON serviceable, so are the fronts. The only way I know to check them is to try and tilt the tire/wheel, top to bottom with the car, or at least that corner supported. With the rear end being not installed I don't know if this will work.
The AC Delco bearings...
If the pickup coil is bad you can replace it, you may have to take it to a shop that specializes in distributor rebuilds. I don't know how hard it is to replace.

You don't say which transmission you have, but it could be the torque converter locking and unlocking. Is the vibration constant, or does it come on at partial throttle? Does changing the throttle position change the vibration, increase/decrease? Does it do this just on the freeway, or on...
The purple wire that he was refering to is the R terminal (HEI ref pulse) if the ECM is not getting that then the solid state relay will never close and allow the ECM to take over spark timing. It would be constantly trying to run off of the ignition module itself.
The timing of the...
Another thing to check is the ignition module harness. This is the little harness that the ignition module plugs into, it should plug into the wiring harness just outside the distributor (to the rear IIRC) there should be four (? its been a while) wires in the harness. One of these is a black...
I agree with you Louis. I just looked back at the dyno sheet (I was able to plot out the past run with the LT header runs... the first runs were plotted vs MPH instead of RPM) and in stock form I was rich then too. Right around 12.5 AFR, with a little dip to 13 between 5200-5500, right where...
You may run a bit rich @ WOT with the larger injectors. If you have a adjustable fuel pressure regulator you could back off the pressure to lean it back out.

The 24's should work fine for you. There is such a range that the injectors work at depending on the fuel pressure you could even go bigger but turn down the fuel pressure and get the same results.
I would check the IAC, EGR, and throttle position sensor. Any could need a cleaning or just a...
I bet if you touch the vac lines going to the cruise diaphram they turn your fingers black.
Sure sign of "aging" , dry-rot, whatever. Most likely replacing them will solve your problem.
