Sounds like normal operating temps to me. The fans are programed to come on at a really high temp IMHO. For my 96LT4 the stock settings were:
Fan 1 on (Low MPH) 104 C = 219 F
Fan 1 on (High MPH) 109 C = 228 F
Fan 2 on (Low MPH) 109 C = 228 F
Fan 2 on (High MPH) 113 C = 235 F
The fans can...
Nawwww I wouldn't do that to anyone. I planned using them with the heads and cam swap for my '90. I will still use them and see for myself, who knows I might get lucky.

www.fiveomotorsport.com has pretty good prices on replacement sets. Or they can help you out if you are looking to upgrade.
I've heard horror stories about Accel injectors. I've actually got a set of 30 lb. Accels never installed in the box that I bought before I heard some complaints, I'd...
I had the same thing on my '90. The ones I had I had to drill the holes for the PCV and breather. Plus I had to remove the breather to fill with oil. I had previously polished the intake plenum, that, a chrome altenator, and the VC's really looked good. Like you said it was a pain polishing...
Sounds like two bad injectors. Most that I've checked are between 14.6 ~ 16.2 ohms. There are several places that can clean/refurb/match sets. I think Edmond may be able to help you with a name or two.

Have you checked into the muffler eliminators? With the free flow of the factory exhaust, just taking out the mufflers might give you the sound you are looking for. The LT4 resonator acts like a modified X-pipe, doing much the same as my Borla, my exhaust is just much shorter. MidAmerica of...
I have to agree. If you are going to go through the trouble you really should go with Long Tubes. There in lies the problem ... they don't match up to the rest of the factory stuff. There is some degree of customization just to make it work. I did my exhaust and it was around $900. LT -> Y...
Oh Yea I get it. I was planning on using set of AFR 195 LT4 Eliminator heads when I do the rest of the build. Those puppies flow. With the cam and intake done it should make some decent power.

I haven't totally completed yet ... waiting on powdercoating. I had planned doing this along with a cam change, but it would be nice to know what each mod actually added. Then again they all kinda work together.

I went with the ones from my '90. Coated TPIS long tubes with the Y, to a Borla XR1 3" in and out, to my custom rear Y dump out. I called TPIS about ordering a new set for Z15 but they talked me into using the old ones. $$$ for other mods. They fit right in and everything lines up great.

Yes there are ... the standard production gasket and the 7777 gasket. The standard leaves some of the intake shrouded from what I've heard. The 7777 gasket matches very closely to the intake openings on the heads. BTW the 7777 gasket is sold in singles so if you order them be sure to get 2.

I've been collecting parts to mod out a LT4, so I can keep the original, well, original. One of the parts I aquired was a LT4 intake that needed powdercoating. I had the gaskets to match so I lined them up. There is quite a difference. I ported out around the injector openings to...
Welcome Jonescap!
Great times there. I am eventually going to swap to the 4.10 gears in mine. For what its worth mine bone stock dyno'ed 308rwhp and 314 rwtq. I've added a few mods (LT headers, exhaust, CAI, electric H20 pump, Granatelli MAF) when I went back in Aug. it dyno'ed 298rwhp...
Yea with a set-up like that they would have to get one of those HD leaf blowers and cram it under the bumper.
Even stock these cars are pretty efficient at cooling when at speed, but sitting with NO airflow and reving above idle for 20 minutes its going to run hot. Idleing for 20 minutes the...
Jane Ann,
I hope I didn't cause this when I went by you on I-10 the other day. :ugh I was going at a good clip, but I don't think a C4 has that much draft / suction. :confused
Glad to hear you got it fixed, sorry to hear the cost.

Open the hood for one. Also have the shop position the fan directly in front of the front license plate angled upwards (the Vette is a bottom breather) Check inside the radiator shroud for blockage (you would be surprised at the amount of stuff that gets sucked up and lodged in there) You...
