I buy Mobil 1 at Wally World in 5 qt. containers and it only costs $23. That's less than $5 a qt. When I bought my ZR1 the first thing I did was to pull the wheels off and clean the inner side. Besides the dirt and brake dust I also cleaned off gobs of grease on all of the wheels. Theres...
The version on e-bay is a 350ci version, nice but not a 415. There were two versions the 600hp and the 620hp. I believe the 620hp was the one with the choppy idle. The 600hp was with a smooth idle. Either one was a handful. Emissions what's that.
A stock ZR1 or a 415ci Ligenfelter ZR1. I already have the ZR1. So if I had a choice it would be the the 415 over the Callaway. More fun and less moving parts.
First of all let me say that except for OSHA every complaint I filed with every agency was justified. My original response was to make a long story short. The reason I was so pi**ed was I told them how and where to break down the tires and they chose to ignore me, even when I pointed out the...
I had a simular incident with a local Goodyear dealership and damaged lwps sensors when I bought new tires. I had Amex stop payment and went to small claims court and got every cent I asked for. I didn't stop there. I filed a complaint with the Better business bureau. OSHA, fire dept., the...
There are alot of people with more money than brains. A few years ago one of the locals had a '90 ZR1 that was orginally purchased for 99K, not by him but someone else. He had the paper work to prove it. Now that was about 35K over MSRP. That was by who we used to call the gold chain bunch...
Look at the front leaf spring It maybe deteriorated. There are many cases where harsh engine cleaners used to clean engines, years ago, dripped onto the spring and was left there. The result was the fiberglass spring was damaged causing it to lose the ability to support the front end.
If you are not familiar with the rear wheel bearings don't replace them, get somebody who knows how to. They have to be shimmed and if you don't install them the right way it will be a very expensive lesson. Take the advice above and buy the greasing tool to lube the bearing. The rule used to...
I am firmly convinced that AC Delco batteries are junk. I have a 04 Trailblazer, an 01 Camaro and am on the 2nd on the Trailblazer and the 3rd on the Camaro. These are daily drivers. The 92 Zr1 is on it's 3rd since I bought it in "99. The ZR1 batteries have been on battery tenders for the...
I've been to Gordons school. It was worth every penny of it. I went to a ZR-1 2 day weekend class. There was about 10 other ZR-1's so there was not alot of personal attention. I talked to a guy who went and his was the only car there, alot of personal attention. The man really knows the...
A very interesting article about the auction and possible illegal activities there.

If you leave the keys in the car you should NEVER push them all the way in the ignition. When the key is put all the way in the ignition the ECM signals all the microprocessors to power up. That will shorten the life of any electronic part. We have a lot of them in these cars.
Does anyone know the sizes of all the vacuum and plenum hoses on a ZR1. I looked in the service manual and could find nothing on sizes. I installed the Samco coolant hoses and thought it would look better with the red Samco vacuum and plenum hoses also. I contacted several companys that sell...
The only thing that really turned me off was the exterior design. It just doesn't impress me at all. Unless you recognize the GTO emblem you don't know what it is. I'd rather stick with my ZR1 even over the C5's. The new ones are comfortable but I like the feeling when you drop yourself into...
