What will cause the front brakes only to lock up. I have a good idea but would like other inputs. Let me explain what happened.
I was coming home from a car show Saturday and through my rear mirror I spotted a Camaro pace car coming up behind me in and out of traffic. So I figure he wanted to...
Well call me cheap then. According to my book I had 460 miles when I changed oil last month, Mobil one. Even if it is only a year old I don't throw it away. The used oil goes into my Trail Blazer, good for 4 months, and in my lawn mower and generator if needed.
You said in your original thread that you had this problem since purchase with 10k on it. I had the same type of problem with a power window switch, passenger side up only that drove me up a wall for a time. I only found it when I disconnected the battery and reconnected it, thats when I heard...
Good luck trying to get a refund from GM. If it is not under warranty they basically wash their hands. To them it is a used car and all this is between you and the dealership. I hate to say this because I have always been a Chevy fan but there are very few dealerships that have knowledgable...
A couple of questions. You mentioned a restoration. Has this happened since the restoration and not before. During the restoration was the clutch replaced. I had a '66 327/350 that suddenly would run hot in slow traffic (parades) or after warm-up in idle. It turned out to be a dragging pressure...
W.C used to describe it as one born every minute. When it comes to NEW cars bought as an investment then there is dozens born every day, and the dealers just love them.
There is one thing that can be said about an ZR1 LT5 that can't be said about the others, the engine was not put in a truck or passenger car or offered in a crate. If it boils down to you needing an item like replacement heads or such for an LT5 then it is by choice or because you damaged it...
One problem that I chased on my '66 was a noise that I thought was u-joints and it turned out to be a differental carrier bushing. I say this because if the spring is off it sure makes it easier to change. This bushing is made of rubber, which rots, and is overlooked alot.
My experience with rear enders is once the plastic bumper is creased it can never be made right. I've seen repairs made on them that looked good at first but over a short time the crease begins to show through the paint. Sorry! But, I have seen this toooooo many times
I used to have a '66 with a 327/350 and I was going starters on a regular basis. The high comp. engines are very hard on starters when they are hot (shortly after shutdown). I finally took it to a starter/alternator shop and had them rebuild to a heavy duty starter and the last 10 years I had it...
Being in business for a long time doesn't make them competent. I had new tires put on mine in Feb and they managed to break 2 wheel sensors and dent the floor pans. This is after I warned them in advance of the possible damage if not done properly. This was a Goodyear dealership that had been...
The seat covers are made to original specs. Even if the foam looks good chances are the covers will not fit right, they will be loose. The foam over the years will shrink and be smaller than original. The only way I was able to use original foam was to have the covers made to the foam at an...
I agree. I have been to Bowling Green many times over the last 10 years and the Country Hearth is the place to stay, they also have rooms with hot tubs......nice. It is right across from the Musuem at reasonable rates and the Continental and Jerry's do SUCK.
Be careful with the easy outs. I had a '66 once in the same situation and the easy out broke in the calipher. I had to wind up with a machinist grinding it out and a welder rebuilding it. Fortunatly it only cost me a case of beer (friends), but alot of grief.
Years back I converted an '87 from R12 to R134. After 5 years when it headed into the sunset it was still pumping out cold air. The compressor had seized up so I converted it. You'll need a to change nearly everything in the system and purge it. To do it right take it to a shop where they...
I had an '87 about 10 years ago that used to eat starters and alternators. It did not matter if OEM or not. So I just started to buy them at AutoZone with lifetime warranty. I could change the alternator in about 10 minutes and the starter in about 20 minutes by the time the ex took it with...
