    1971 C3 Start/no start-crank condition

Thanks to all. Well we got it running . There were some mechanical problems with the engine. Replaced the starter with a high-torque one , redid the wiring. somewhat and the positive battery cable. It looked fine but had a slight bulge in it. When I cut it open- all corrosion. It will be a...

    HID lighting

Thanks for the advice Norty. Guess I will be happy with her as she is. Really have no problems with the lighting. Just read the threads about it and was curious. Again appreciate it.

    HID lighting

HID lighting Question I have a question about installing HID fog lamps. Does the increased intensity work for you in sincere "fog"conditions? I was curious about too much reflection. Also if you replace your high beams with HID, does this overtax the standard electrical system at all? I...

Question: What Mods Are You Doing to Your C6?

I have installed the Callaway Honker CAI and the Corsa Sport Exhaust system. Upgraded the front and rear floor mats to Lloyd along with putting a soft leather cover on my center console. Also installed the CAGS mod and had the windows tinted. I do have a question about installing the HID...

    1971 C3 Start/no start-crank condition

Thanks to all . Found out had some broken starter bolts, wiring harness problems and some other problems. I am still assisting in returning the "Vette" to a steady running state. (also had a weak solenoid spring). Will keep you posted.

    1971 C3 Start/no start-crank condition

Some good stuff. I will check out the cables and wiring. And maybe install a high torque starter if necessary. I remember the Heat Soak problems I had in my 66 Nova. 327/365. Time made me forget all about it. Thanks!!

    1971 C3 Start/no start-crank condition

I THINK that the replacement had a new solenoid. I will have to check as I personally did not do it. But I am 99% sure it was both. I have heard the garage is reputable but who knows anymore.

    1971 C3 Start/no start-crank condition

Trying to solve a problem on a 1971 C3 350 CI, HP unknown (probably 270/330, automatic tranny. It will start, run fine then switch it off and try to restart it and nothing but a thunk. (no crank). Wait awhile then try it and it usually starts. Have had the starter replaced as I thought the...

    CORSA Touring...pros or cons?

Got the Corsa Sport Systems w/o the X pipe and I love them over the stock exhausts. They do gurgle somewhat when you let off, but sound great when you jump on it. No drone at. Only wish I could have got the deal you did. I was not aware that installing the X pipe vs the stock H pipe would...

    Z51 Option

Thanks for the facts and figures. I was not aware of the uniqueness of our color option. I was equally surprized that there were not more 83U Vettes on the road.

    Z51 Option

The interior is cashmere. Ran a Shelby 500 about 3 miles. It was give in the beginning, but caught up in 3rd and then we blew it off. I want to believe I would have took'em but what the hey. Did get tromped by some type of BMW though.

    Z51 Option

Congrats on your choice of colors on that original dream car. At the time I purchased my coupe I had long wanted the vert as you got but financially could not. Enjoy the Z-51's flat cornering, it's great!

WOW! A lot of information that I was always wondering about. This is a darn good commentary. Thanks for the post.

Greed, not unions, brought GM down

Again, Mac, you have absolutely hit the nail on the head!!! GREED at all levels.

    Gas Mileage

Well you got me. I was under the impression that improving the breathability of the engine started in the low RPM range affecting both hp and torque to a small degree depending on the modification. I will have to do some calling around and see what RPM range I have actually had an effect on...

    Turtle wax ICE? Any good?

I have used Ice paste since day one and it gleams. As someone else said , it makes the car seem a shade deeper. Here in WA it last me all winter. I do not drive the baby much below 35 degrees though. On my wife's 06 Mustang I use the liquid Ice and it is great. At times it seems to take...

A least I am not the only one. As you said "not nearly as fun though".

    Gas Mileage

You make me wonder if I didn't inhibit my gas mileage somewhat by installing a Corsa Sport exhausts system and a Callaway cold air induction system. My baby is equipped with the MN6 option (3:42 axle & GU6 shorrt throw tranny) and the GY Eagle F-1 Supercar tires.

    Gas Mileage

Again thanks Norty. I won't lug the engine any to cause pre-detonation. With all this info I doubt I will even run the lower octanes. Why chance it and I believe my owners manual even says use 92 octane or better for my 08. I was not aware that the C5 was built to run on 87 as the norm.
