I wasn't as impressed with the BMW Z4 episode of Ultimate Factories. The Ferrari episode last season on the 559 was definitely worth seeing though.
I was rewatching the Z06 episode the other day. When they talked about the car sometimes they would go to a computer animated car where the body...
It's cleaning something out. My experience has been in smoothed out idle and improved throttle response. If you read the thread I quoted you'll see some people's experiences with Seafoam.
But no, I haven't torn down the engine to see if the carbon is being cleaned. But there is a general...
A large number of us C5 guys have run Seafoam through our cars. The stuff works well at removing carbon buildup.

I was lucky to see the gray one here in Philadelphia. I didn't think it would be here and I figured on making a trip to the NYC show in order to see it. It looks fantastic and I wish everyone had a chance to see one in person. Quite a car indeed. When I get a chance I'll post some shots from...
Had a nice wintery storm come through yesterday which made the drive home in the C5 interesting to say the least. Actually, she handled herself very well with the GS-D3's. When I was almost back into the city I was thinking that I'd surely not see any other C5's on the road in this mess. But...
Can an auto climate control controller be added to a car that doesn't have automatic control?

Two of the three control knobs have broken on my controller and I was thinking that it might be nicer just to drop the above unit into the...
Absolutely. Do you think there is as much emphasis on weight reduction on the 330i as there would be on the Porsche? No way. For a sports car application I think GM can add AWD to a Corvette and keep the weight down. I tried to keep the comparison apples to apples as much as I could.
There seem to be some common misconceptions about AWD that have been addressed in this thread.
One is that AWD is heavy. Using Porsche as an example (and one I cited earlier) the AWD system in the 911 only add ~80 lbs over the basic Carrera. Not a lot of weight.
The next is that AWD is going...
Manual is my guess. The ZR-1 will also have the butterfly valve exhaust which drowns out the supercharger once it opens up I see. ;) Very cool and very fast.
I moved from a '95 vert to a C5 FRC. First thing you notice is the structural rigidity. I HATED the chassis flex in my vert which was extremely noticable. This feeling was noticed even more so after driving the FRC and getting into the C4. I haven't spent any time behind the wheel of a C5 or...
Hey Todd, I'm surprised you haven't pulled the trigger on a C6Z yet. ;) With winter settling in I guess now is not the time to purchase and sit and watch it sit in the garage. Nice cars to say the least. I keep getting C6 fever on the '08. Thankfully I haven't driven one yet. ;)
Keep in mind that if you plan to do anything that requires extreme use of your brakes (i.e., track events) that cross drilled rotors will crack under this type of use. Solid rotors will give you the best performance and dissipate the most amount of heat.

I have the same issue in the rear of my car. Actually, since I put the car through its paces on the race track at Summit Point I'm not sure that I've noticed it since then. ;) Eventually I will be replacing these components on my suspension as well.
