Help with High Idle on 85

High idle is often caused by a vacuum leak. Have you inspected the induction system beyond the throttle body for vacuum leaks? Do you have the '85 Service Manual. If not, buy one. There is diagnostic information on what to do when the check engine light is not working.

Do you have the '01 Factory Service Manual?

    Replacing Front Magnetic Ride Shocks

Changing front shocks is not difficult provided you have the proper tools. Unfortunately, MR shocks might be pretty pricey...if you can still get the first Gen MR shocks.

    Help With scan readings

I don't know what some of those mean as I've never used "ALDLdroid" which I suspect is an app on an Android phone. First of all, get a real scan tester. What I can tell you is: Engine speed means RPM and 975-1000RPM is too high if you got that reading at idle. TPS is Throttle Position Sensor...

Low voltage message on the dic for the first time on a 2000 c5

Based on the OP, the problem is just as likely to be with the charging system as with the battery. Check battery cables (both ends) for corrosion. Have the battery tested. Troubleshoot the charging system per the service manual.

    Help! 1982 corvette keep stalling

Provided the fuel system and the ignition system are in good condition...if that engine has a camshaft more aggressive than the stock cam, I'm going to take a wild-assed guess and suggest that the ECM calibration is not optimal for an engine with that bigger cam, and the problem is most obvious...

    Run flat tires

Solution: Stop using a dealer for tire work. Dealers only do tire work because the dealer community saw the money tires vendors make and wanted in on the profits. Folks like you, who want the convenience of being able to get a tire repair done while other service is also being done, are "easy...

Urgent C4 buying advice needed! Thanks in advance

There are a number of small things I can see in the engine imagery attached to the OP that would make me a bit apprehensive. 1) The IAT sensor installed into the air bridge with RTV. 2) There is a lot of non-standard vacuum tubes and hoses. 3) It looks like the engine may have open breathers in...

    Run flat tires

Michelin RFTs used on Corvettes under certain circumstances can be repaired. As you've heard from others, it depends on where the puncture is located. Also, the speed rating goes down. Discount Tire stores are Michelin dealers and may be able to help you. That dealer either was BS'ing you in...

    Help! 2007 C6 Won’t Shift From Park

Can you be a little more specific? With your foot on the brake, can you not shift out of Park at any time? Or is it an intermittent problem. Have you tried researching the service manual for a diagnosis and repair procedure?

Upgrade Air Filter System on 2019 Corvette

My guess is that just a filter change would not make a significant improvement.

    3 Bad Fuel Pumps. Why?

With the key on the pump will only run for a few seconds and if the ECM does not sense oil pressure, it cuts the pump off. Do you have the 1996 Factory Service Manual?

Upgrade Air Filter System on 2019 Corvette

There is a modest improvement. The best stuff is made by Halltech, however, the only one that complies with the factory warranty is the GM Performance kit and to maintain warranty, it needs to be installed by a dealer.

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

Follows is my response to the second part of Katech's post to the Corvette Forum which is reproduced in post #391 above. Katech's dyno data is accurate. I retarded the spark because knock retard was rampant–likely due to oil ingestion. I gave up after retarding as much as 12-degrees but there...

Jack Up a C7 Corvette With Roof Panel In or Out?

C5/6/7s are very stiff. It doesn't matter whether you lift them with the doors open and/or the roof off or on.

Some older engines with EGR may detonate at part throttle without it.

Grand Sport Just bought a supercharged c6 GS

Your engine is making somewhere between 600 and 625 at the flywheel SAE-corrected. That's pretty impressive. The torque and power curves above about 4300 get a bit jagged. Did the chassis dyno operator have any explanation of that. Also, was there any air:fuel ratio data and did you happen to...

Help! how to check 1968 vette if its l88

Aluminum radiator with expansion tank and no fan shroud? M22? Tach with 6500-rpm red line? Heater delete? Radio delete? J56 brakes? 103 octane warning sticker on console? What axle ratio is in the car? Any chance the tank sticker is still there? If so does it list L88?

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

The "Bad Assed Bee", our ZR1, sits out in the carport under a cover. Last year, we drove it almost 15,000 miles. For this year, we had been saving that car for long runs with our Club or to other Corvette events but with so many of that sort of thing being cancelled, it continues to "rest". Our...
