    3 Questions

I would not suggest using a base C7 for track activities. It lacks the engine and transmission cooling system capability, lacks the right tires and lacks the proper suspesnion, however, if you persist, keep in mind that unless you are tracking in cool or cold weather, the amount of laps you can...

    advanced timing issue 1994 corvette

Is this engine modified at all? If so, to what extent. Also, when it goes into "...a kind of limp mode...", does the check engine light come on? When you see the spark retard all the way to 1°, what is the knock retard value?

400 Dyno Data (with Holley & Q-Jet Comparison)

For a street high-performance application below 450-hp, a properly modified and jetted 800-cfm Quadrajet would be my choice rather than a Holley of similar air flow capacity. It would the performance would be comparable at WOT and the drivability would be better because of the tiny primaries...

    Code 56

If you have the Factory Service Manual for a '90, you'll find an in-depth diagnostic charge for Code 56 on an LT5. There are a number of places in the SPT system where leakage can set that code. At one time, I owned a '95 and had that code set. Following the FSM and using a scan tester and a...

    C4 driving me loopy

You'll need to order a Service Manual from here in the States. In reading this thread, your car may have a number of problems with electronics. Without the diagnostic information in the FSM, you're left using a Chilton book, which is only one step above a catbox liner, and just throwing parts at...

    Question: 94 LT1 rebuild issue

Also try this one: 1994 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 5.7L V8 OHV Oil Temperature Sender | RockAuto It's currently out of stock but once it gets back in stock, Rockauto.com typically has low prices and quick shipping. I buy a fair amount of parts from those guys because of that.

Gen 2 LT-4 plug recommendations please!

Try the Denso IT22. It's two ranges colder than stock and ought to work great in an LT4 with a 150 shot of nitrous. I use the IT22 in my LS6 and LS7 both of which are modified. Also I used it in the modified LT5 I had in a C4 ZR1, again to good results. It ought to work great in a mod'ed Gen 2 LT4.

    C4 driving me loopy

Keep in mind that once the engine dies, if the ignition is still on the check engine light and the check gauges lights may come on and that's normal. As for why the engine dies. If you are seeing "SYS" blink on the IP and your Snap-On scanner shows no codes then the problem is not with the...

$2700 for a rear main seal and clutch?

If we are talking about an automatic trans, "flush" means replace all the fluid with new fluid using a machine which connects to the trans and sucks out the old fluid and pumps in new fluid. "Change" draining the fluid in the trans pan and refilling the trans. Fluid inside the converter or in...

Want to sell C5 but sticky clutch pedal

Typically, you don't need to pressure bleed a hyd. clutch. All you need to do at most is manually bleed it and often just working the clutch pedal after changing/adding fluid gets the air out of that system. If you've been "flushing" the fluid with a syringe and it's ok for a while then becomes...

    Wet Carpet Ppassenger Side.

The evaporator drain is no inside the car. It's the hose which drips water if you idle for a long period while parked with the A/C on. To be honest, I don't know exactly where it is on a C4 but you should be able to see it from beneath the firewall area if the car is on tall jackstands or on a...

Tires leak around rim, I've tried everything. Can I use an inner tube ?

So...that wheel was a porous casting. Chromeplating can solve that problem. Aftermarket wheels, especially those made offshore are notorious for air leakage due to porosity.

    Wet Carpet Ppassenger Side.

So, with the exception of the bottom of the windshield, you have taped-off all the possible places water could enter via failed weather seals. That leaves plugged water drains or a leaking heater core. I'd start with a water test. It takes two people. One person to hose down the HVAC intake...
