    $2700 for a rear main seal and clutch?

    The above is bad advice, regardless if the transmission is a manual or an automatic. Both transmission types require periodic maintenance for best durability. C6 manuals should have lubricant changes every 3-years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first. C6 automatics should have a fluid flush...

    Hello;

    Welcome to the CAC, Charles. Now, the bad news. Based on your brief post, I'd say you blew-up your engine.

    9/11

    This summarizes my feelings about 9/11... Today, you will hear, over and over, "Never forget." We get it, but, if you do not remember specifically who committed this act of mass murder and terrorism and why they did it then... YOU HAVE ALREADY FORGOTTEN. So, in my circles, we say... "NEVER...

    corvette overheat

    First, describe the symptoms which make you feel it's overheating. Does this happen when you are running the engine hard? Does this happen when you are cruising on the highway at 60-70-mph ? Does it happen in around town traffic at lower speeds? Have you tried reinstalling the vacuum advance?

    Intermittent Fluctuating Idle

    In the section of the 95 on engine controls there are several pages of troubleshooting instructions on driveability. Read all the stuff on unstable or surging idle. That will give you a start. Also, do you have a scan tester which supports a 95? Lastly, to confirm...after you changed the IAC...

    Tuned Port Fuel Injection LT1?

    The LT2 Gen V Small-Block is not based on the LT1 Gen II Small-Block. LT2 is derived from the Gen V LT1 used in 2014-2019 C7s. Also, the Gen II V8's reverse flow cooling was not that remarkable. It was only used for four model years and GM has never had another engine like that. While the...

    Help! I need an advice

    Ok. It's a 427 Convertible with only 58-mi and it has the 60th package, the carbon package and the 60th stripe. I would argue that a 427 Convertible is not exactly "track ready" but that's probably irrelavent in this case. The MSRP on that car was about 82-large. At this point in time, I...

    Help! I need an advice

    Well...one reason it's priced at 96-large is the mileage...only 58. Still that's pretty expensive for a C6 convertible. Also, I think I'd like to know more about how it's equipped, ie is it 3LT or 4LT? Is it an automatic or a six-speed. Magna-Ride or not? Z51 or not? With that info you can...

    Question: Regular production option FE4&E60

    My understanding is that E60 is a stand alone option on 2LT and 3LT cars with no restrictions, ie: you can have it whether or not you also have Z51. I do not know if there are two tanks or one. Order MagnaRide. You'll love it.

    Hello, New member from Massachusetts. I'm 66 and looking to buy a used Corvette within the year

    The 1997-2004 C5 had three different engines available. 97-04 Base: LS1 350-hp 01 Z06: first design LS6, 385-hp 02-04 Z06: second design LS6, 405-hp As "GS Diva" says, 12 large for a C5 in good condition is pretty low. If that's your limit you'd better be a intermediate DIY ready for a car...
