Harlan Charles, the Corvette Program Manager, says the end caps are deleted on Convertibles with ZTK because of the aerodynamic differences between the two body styles.
Obviously, a convertible is less safe in a rollover incident than is a coupe. I suspect that whether or not a trackway organizer will allow Corvette convertibles is going to depend on the type if insurance the event has and the track's safety regulations.
Do you have the Factory Service Manual for a 90?
If so, there is trouble shooting information in there you can use to determine if the problem is the starter relay, the starter or wiring.
Also, on a 90, you might as well pull the plenum because there's a good chance the valley drain is plugged...
I've read/heard from several sources about Fords "VooDoo" having high coil use in severe duty, but there is one big difference between Ford's VooDoo issue and mine...my high oil use comes from the "polar opposite" duty cycle, ie: really easy duty, 98% below 3000 rpm and 99% at less than WOT.
SuperRam is a pretty good choice but why a flat tappet cam? A hydraulic roller was stock and an aftermarket hyd. roller would be much better combination for the street.
I've not actually done the upgrade you discuss, but was planning on it for my 71 Big-Block. I think Willwood makes great stuff and that's why I have it on my list.
My oil use testing is still going on, but only kinda-sorta as I have not driven the car much in the last six weeks or so due to 1) weather–I have Cup tires back on the car which are not good in the rain at all and, in California, we've had lots of rain so far this Winter and 2) too busy to take...
91 VIN 8 uses single-wire sensors. The two broken wires likely go to some other device.
If you have the Electrical Supplement to the 91 Factory Service Manual, you'll find a wiring diagram in that book.
30 psi in Sept. down to 27 lbs in three of the tires seems normal, but one tire at 15 indicates that tire may have a very slow leak.
As for a tire "not accepting air", either there's problem with he valve core or a problem with your air chuck. I'd get that tire off, and do as others have...
Get the car up in the air and inspect the front lower control arms. They should be imbossed "Z51".
Also, read the spring codes off the leaf springs. In front it should be either FHB or FSK. In the rear it should be NYU
Buy some service manuals. Without them you are lost if you are going to DIY service work on your '96.
Actually, there is no "brake pressure" light.
There is a lamp that comes on when the parking brake is set. There is a light that comes on if there is a leak in the brake hydraulics. There is...
My guess is your no start and "brake pressure light on" are unrelated. Also, I suspect that faulty sensors on the master cylinder is not your problem. If the "brake pressure light" is on, it is likely there is a problem with the brake hydraulics.
That said, the best place to start with either...
Considering the labor required to pull those tanks, don't cheap-out on parts. Like "LLC5" says, use ACD senders and pumps. Unfortunately, reliable and durable senders and pumps aren't cheap.
