    Very disappointed in MAD

I ordered their "quiet flow" mufflers and had them installed today: http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=3.119.976 There is a horrible, low-level drone in these mufflers, driving in town is unbearable. Can't even hear my stereo, much less carry on a conversation with the passenger. I am very...

    PASSEBGER SIDE VALVE COVER GROMET

Well, the grommet won't pull straight out, it is a pressure-fit piece of rubber, I usually use needle nose pliers or pry it out carefully with a standard screwdriver. The pcv valve goes on the driver side valve cover, the passenger side is just a tube that runs to the throttle body.

I like this!!!! Git U One!!!

I've been wanting something like that for years.

    Rim Directions

This has happened to me several times, even Sears mounted my front tires incorrectly, the right was on the left and vice versa. Whenever I need new tires I always remind them that the wheels are directional.

    Brake bleeding question

If the m/c is leaking, I strongly advise you to get a new one. And as c4cruiser said, you need to bleed the brake lines. The symptoms you describe are exactly what happens when you don't bleed.

    1988 Water Pump

A lot of stuff has to be moved out of the way, but it's easily doable in an afternoon or a long day where you take your time. You'll need a deep socket to remove one of the compressor bracket bolts, I forget what size it is, I think 16mm but I'm probably wrong. If you have the "frisbee" on the...

    Bose in an 89' Coupe

There are many posts about this issue, try doing a search for more information. In a nutshell, if you still have the stock bose stereo system, each of the 4 speakers in the c4 bose is individually amplified. Each speaker is combined with its own little amplifier in a miniature subwoofer-type...

    cleaning in front of radiator

The only effective way of cleaning out the shroud/radiator is to pull the radiator. I do this once a year to keep the fins clear. While I have the radiator out, I also blast some water through the condenser fins to clean them out as well.

Poor man's Dash kit removal [several pics]

I commend you for removing those stick-on "wood" panels. They don't belong in a corvette. Great job!

    91 headlight motor removal

Wow, that's a great site, very useful.

    91 headlight motor removal

Yeah, it's easiest to simply remove the entire headlight and take it to your work table for disassembly. But I didn't use a vise to remove the motor, wow imagine crushing that thing and having to pay $250 for a new one. Anyway, I just used a punch to remove the pin in the shaft and the motor...

I think I broke my AC

I agree with redvet, the system was probably low on oil and now the compressor is basically a doorstop, all the internals are probably trashed. This is why, on aging a/c systems, it's not always a good idea to simply top it off and leave it at that, you need to discharge the system, flush the...

    A/C compressor fried.

I bought my last Nippondenso 10pa20c on ebay, it was a rebuild, and it has performed flawlessly for two years now. At first there was a little oil coming from the shaft seal, but after much research I have come to the conclusion that this is normal, as the new carbon seal seats with compressor...

    Buying a 88'

Yes a corvette is a cool car, but unless it's been restored, an 18-year-old car with 126,000 miles on the clock is going to need regular maintenance. If you have a backup car to drive, I'd say go for it, because the corvette will be laid up once in a while. These are some of the things I've...

Buying my first vette. I Need help plz.

These are great cars, when they came out in 83 I lusted after them and finally got one. I love everything about the c4, it's a gorgeous car and tremendously fun to drive. But I hope you're open-minded about repairs, because these things are getting old and everything is breaking, like all...

    Engine serious rattling pinging noise

Did you remove the serp belt and listen as you spin each belt-driven accessory? It helps to listen with a mechanic's stethoscope when you do this. The sound you describe could be anything. I had a rattling sound, turned out to be the cat converter, although other metallic sounds in my car...

    universal joint replacement

Grumpy has posted some great information, and I'd like to add that this is a fairly easy repair to do yourself. At a certain point, once you get everything unbolted, you just pull on the hub and the halfshaft can easily be pulled out. And as long as you're in there, might as well do both...

    Does this price seem high?

Okay, take a look at this car on craigslist: http://honolulu.craigslist.org/car/155837453.html Then scroll down to see how much the guy wants for it. Think they can get anyone to buy it for that much?

Need help with lower ball joints

I agree, it doesn't look that hard really. I forgot where I saw this link, so my apologies to whomever posted it to begin with: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/11/9a/1a/0900823d80119a1a.jsp and I found this on ebay, so the whole operation...
