    Traded My 04 for a 07 Yesterday

FOB When I ordered my 07 in October I specifically asked about the integrated FOB. Salesperson said the integrated FOB was advertised for 07 but never happened. Not sure why. Dave

    Spark Plug Wire Ohms Question

The "k" is scientific notation shorthand for 1000, and means to move the decimal point 3 places to the right, and insert zero's as needed. So, as KOPBET correctly indicates, 5.5k is the same as 5500. The other common symbols you might run into are "m", or 1 million, which means move the decimal...

    How-To Section

Inegrated Was originally thinking separate, but the "drill down" argument has changed my mind. Given an integrated approach, I guess I would prefer the second example as described above, e.g. 1997-2004 >> How To >> "Category..." Dave

Installed Sirius now my C6 won't start

I too was "taken aback" by the DBS episode. Had a 2002 C5 manual for 3 years and never had a problem. Never heard of having to park it in reverse and never did. And never had a battery problem either. So the C6 is a bit of a shock/dissapointment in this regard. In all others, however, it is an...

Installed Sirius now my C6 won't start

Welcome! Do you have a manual or automatic? I had a DBS episode with my 2005 manual :ugh and bought a Ctek Battery Charger :) . When I'm working on the vette I connect the Ctek to the battery and leave it connected while working, then leave it connected until I get a "green light,"...

Drove a new C6 with 6 speed automatic

I agree! I've always had manuals, but thought I'd try the automatic w/paddles cuz of my bad knee; the bad knee is on the right leg and it's hard to adjust the seat to accomodate both the clutch and the gas pedal. The test drive went OK, but after living with it for a few months I'm trading...

Thoughts on B&B Bullets after 900+ mile road trip

Got it. Thanks for the reply! I've got a month or so before the new toy arrives to decide if I want to move the Bullets over, or try Corsa Sports. I had Borlas (not the Stingers) on my manual 02 and really liked them. Would go with Borla again but am having fun trying different vendors :D ...

Thoughts on B&B Bullets after 900+ mile road trip

Patrick, are you running the Bullets on your Z06? I'm trading off my 06 automatic for an 07 manual (had a manual before; don't care for the automatic), and currently have the Bullets on the 06. With the 6spd automatic, there is no drone above 2000 rpms or so. If you are running the Bullets...

The Wave is alive and well!

I wave! My C4 buddy at work taught me the ways of the wave when I got my first vette, a C5. Always waved in the C5 and continue to wave in the C6. I think it's cool, and has become something like a "hunt" whenever I take the vette out: will I meet a kindred spirit or no ;shrug ? Dave :w

    Good News... IT'S HERE!!!

Wish that worked at my house. Beautiful car! Glad you luv it. I wish the "sargeant major" would catch the corvette bug. Bought an automatic to see if she'd drive it but, alas, she hasn't. Says it scares her. So I'm trading off the 06 auto w/paddles for an 07 manual. I'm glad I tried the...

    Exhaust

No, haven't done anything with the headers. I would think the stock manifold IS pretty good. That said, the more one mods all the way up to the engine, the more difference one should notice in the overall "tone". Estimated delivery for the new vette is late Oct or early Nov, so if I go with the...

    Exhaust

Lots of choices. Stock systems are too quiet for my taste, so I had a Borla on my C5 02 manual coupe and really liked the sound. I tried a B&B bullet on my C6 06 auto w/paddles convertible and love the deep throaty idle, but I'm not sure I like the interior drone under 2000rpm. I just ordered...

    HELLO FROM COLORADO..FIRST C5 VETTE

I had a 2002 coupe (my first vette). Very reliable. There are days when I think I should have kept it. Anyway, I bought it to drive and enjoy so I never babied it as such. But I always kept it clean, polished and waxed. However, it did seem prone to nicks and dings on the rocker panels beneath...

    Mobil One $7.25 per quart?

I too had an oil change, filter and lube ($59.11 total) at my Chevy dealership on Aug 30. Cost for 7 quarts of Mobil 1 was $41.93, which is $5.99 per quart.

    Hi from a New guy

I can relate! Our son just brought home another stray puppy: a 1987 Monte Carlo low rider (can you say hydraulics?). I think, nay I know, I just lost half the driveway again :cry. So many toys, so little room.
