Question: Can I swap the base plates on a Quadrajet 7042202 and 7042217?

yeah. . .but then wouldn't I be trashing the original 7042202 throttel linkage? Someone might need that carb someday. . .especially if I can get my origional main bowl fixed.

    Barn find advice

It was the break pad seized to the rotors. The car was purchased and moved to my place on Jan 7th. I've started the restoration, and the mice were caught in my garage. . . Not in the barn. I'll try to post photos here soon.

    Barn find advice

Wife wouldn't let me get the glock. My .22cal pellet gun put a few holes in the wall. Garage was to cold for the cat. So I set six old fashioned wood mouse traps with peanut butter. Next day all the peanut butter was licked clean. So I reset the traps, and tried to make the traps more...

    Rear wheel bearings questions

You will need special tools if you plan to do this yourself. Sending them out is usually cheaper. Gary is the man on TA's. I used his procedures to do mine. I did mine because I'm the type of person who gets more enjoyment working on my cars then driving them. . .i bit the bullet an bought...

    Help! 1972 LS5 (454) carb help PLEASE!!!!

So I tried carb dips strippers and mechanical tools ( dental picks. . .etc. . .). I finally gave up and decided to duct tape up every inch of the carb except for the fuel bowl. Next, I rolled some duct tape into small little balls and jumped them into all the holes in the fuel bowl. Then I...

Removed my intake manifold on my 1972 454. There is a ton of burnt and charred oil (like coal) between the intake and heat shield. I'm assuming that the best way to remove this crap is to remove the shield then rivet it back in place after clean. What is the safest correct way to remove te...

    Help! 1972 LS5 (454) carb help PLEASE!!!!

Good point. . .I guess I was assuming that this cab was stock on the inside. I was going to keep it stock because I've been told that changing the jetting of quarajets was not a good idea. Ok. . .so your point is taken. . .just dont' know where to go to get the orgional specs. Any idea on...

I just ordered a HP rebuild kit from Clifs High Performance Quadrajets. He also had the secondary pull off link rod, and the correct choke pull off. I'm going ot get the divorced choke and rod assmbly from Paragon or Vol Vette. I think that was all that was missing on this carb. My biggest...
