    Magnaflow Mufflers are installed

Graham- From what I read from Redbob, without using the mathematical formula, you would put the x as far back on the car as possible. Basically, just before the pipes split to go around the spare. I would love to know what an X does for you. I have been contemplating it on my 92 for a while...

    Should rocker arms be loose

Is that adjustment order good for every SBC? Solid and Hydrolic lifters? Yes, you can do it with the engine running, I have done it on another SBC. It is a quick and dirty way of doing it. The question is really, "How accurate do you wish to be?" -Mike

    Spring or shocks?

Ken, last I checked, Denver was still in Colorado. Then again, with as much smoke from the fires around here recently, they might have moved us without telling. Come to think of it, the gas prices have been going up.....:gap Coil overs sound expensive. Besides, I have been thinking of auto...

    Stalled at 50MPH??

Pull codes?? My 92 was stalling, and it was caused by a bad coolant sensor. Without accurate data, the computer was flooding the engine-on the freeway and also when stopped. Just another $.02 Mike

    May-day Mayday....LT1 Serpentine

Update Ok, The vette is at the dealership that the Area Service Rep suggested. (Oddly enough, this dealership is owned by the say guy that owns the dealership that messed up my vette) They think that the tensioner pulley is to blame. They believe that somehow it wore in such a way as to allow...

    Magnaflow Mufflers are installed

Exhaust shops will usually make and install an x for $100. It would be cheaper to have this done that to pay to have the mufflers welded two more times. just a thought.

    Spring or shocks?

FYI, mine does similar things (I also have FE1-base suspension). I replaced my factory Bilsteins last summer, and it solved the problem-for about a year. My vette is starting to float over the woopdies and what not on the freeways. I am looking for a permanent solution. The idea of sending...

    New Tires - WOW...

Not at all. I was thinking my vette is a little bloated though. :s

Tires: are GY GSC's the best dry traction tire for the money?

I have run the GS-Cs, and they stuck like glue on the dry and wet. You have to be careful when you get down to the wear bars though, they do get a little slick. I agree about the age of the tire affecting its performance.

    More Performance

be careful who does your work on that stuff. Mine has been throwing belts ever since one of the Denver dealers replaced my opti spark and water pump. :hb

    New Tires - WOW...

Len- I hear that the run flats ride a little harder because the sidewalls are reinforced to handle the run-flat scenario. I have not experienced it in person though. fyi, my 92 convt. weighs in at 3775 with me in it, and 1/4-1/5 tank.

    New Tires - WOW...

I may switch back. My Dunlops were less that inspiring last night in the rain. Of course so were my new headlights. A work in progress.

    change oil sensor

From what I understand, it does not actually sense the oil. That is why if you do not reset it, it can come on right after an oil change. The system tries to figure, based on engine and oil temp, RPMs, time, etc, at what point the oil should be replaced. Since it can not actually sense the...

    Pcv..

I did find the PCV under the Driver's side fuel rail cover. It is actually on the intake manifold. There is about a 3" piece of hose that forms a "U." One side (forward one) fits in a rubber seat that allows the PCV valve to slide out. ok, I had to persuade mine a little. 5 minutes...

    change oil sensor

I think.... With key on/engine offf push Eng/Met twice press and hold Gauges button. The change oil light will flash. Keep holding until it stops flashing and goes out. -Mike

    New Tires - WOW...

How is the noise on the Falkans? The set I had were noisy. It might have just been my set since they were used. Just thought I would ask since there are a couple of you using them. I did like their traction though.

Have you had your Driver seat bolsters replaced?

Have you checked the catalogs? I can not remember the $$, but they all have seat covers, foam and all the stuff needed to rebuild the seat.

    great way to start vacation

Just in case-have them check the frame with a laser alignment system. Also, the suspension alignment and your wheel might be out too. Just a couple things to check. rruble- I know the feeling. Mine has been in and out of the shop for about a month and no one can figure why my belt jumps...
