    Need help lowering the front

I am running the pads that were sent with the lowering kit. Honestly, if I had it to do over, I don't think I would lower my vette. I know it lowers the center of gravity, and looks good, but since I have a convertible, I have less ground clearance than a regular coupe. The reason is the...

    electrical issues...still/new

I am sure that there are more than two cases for the fans to come on, but the most common are: 1. Engine temp. (230* if you have factory settings +/-) 2. A/C is turned on. Get this, the computer that the dealer was going to swap out the bad computer I had, and in return, they gave me one...

    Shocks for my 1992

Graham- Thanks for the info. I will probably be doing this before too long. I have a need for stiffer suspension, but am not to the point of installing new springs yet. :s Do you know if Bilstien will rebuild non-FX3 shocks? If so, I could send in my original ones (as they are still sitting...

    H.I.D. headlamp conversion

I have a set of Diamond Cut lights. They suck. That was my first attempt. The ones made in Taiwan are not that good. Just be careful. Get German or Japanese lights. They have better optics (focus of the light). If someone just wants looks, and not really worried too much about the light...

    electrical issues...still/new

Just talked to the dealer. They ordered in another ECM, no questions asked. They are just going to swap them out. Bad news is that I had them run the part numbers for an F and Y body. They come back with the same part number for the ECM. I will let you know after I change out computers, in...

Interesting.... I will have the part numbers double checked. Sounds like that might be the ticket. I will post updates.. Thanks. -Mike

    Shocks for my 1992

I put on a set of replacement Bilsteins. They work nice, and are factory. The down side is that they are not lasting that long. I have put on 35K mi (+/-) on them in 2 years, and they are losing thier stiffness already. If you want to firm up your suspension (I have FE1), go with...

    electrical issues...still/new

Ok,turns out that it was a fried computer. I got another one from the dealer today. Good news...when I tap the ECM, the car does not die. BAD NEWS...The fans are on at all times. Granted I just let it idle for 5 minutes, but the temp was only 170*, and the AC was off. As far as I know...

    brakes/pads

Baer Touring pads work well for me. I just used them at a Performance driving school. They did great. ok, only drawback is that they create more brake dust. Hey, they stop really well, I can deal with the dust. Mike

Neon in the gills? Nah.... (Pics)

I saw a C5 with a red rope-light in the gills once. I though they look good like that. They look good. (not rice at all) -Mike

    H.I.D. headlamp conversion

oops... forgot to mention that I have seen HID conversions for our fog lights. I don't know of anyone using them though. I think Sylvania has them. I used to use my foglights for the additional light, though minimal. Now, I can not even tell if they are on. The headlights work that well.

    H.I.D. headlamp conversion

I am running RayBrig headlights. Very, very bright. The optics on these things are wonderful. The lens is plastic (very light weight lens/housing). The bucket had to be modified a little to take them as they were just a touch longer than the factory ones. They cost me $150 with bulbs. The...

    engine trouble--need opinions

Right one goes first I seem to remember hearing. Fuel vaccume? My condolences on your road trip return. I know your pain. The last two road trips (back to back weekends) have ended up in repairs once I got home. This time I at least made it home.

    Need help lowering the front

If I remember correctly, it is the top. It helps to jack up the front a lot. That way, when you slide the spring out, you will have enough room for it to curve toward the floor. Oh, and the other thing is to make sure that you have a jack under the a-arm when you unbolt the shock. Mine is...

    Any other quick mods

It is a filter element (brand of filter) that is made from cotton instead of paper. It flows more air. (more air, more power) You can replace just the filter element, or you can get a modified filter box. Exhaust would be another consideration. An aftermarket exhaust system will make a...

    Any other quick mods

K&N filter? What have you done? Performance or looks? I am running RayBrig headlights. They make the factory lights look like 2w bulbs. (no, they are not blue) A little spendy, but worth it if you drive at night a lot.

    Help...electrical gremlin!

ok...an update... I checked for codes...nothing. I ran the engine, and looked for loose wires...nothing. I tapped the ECM while the engine was running, and it stumbled. I tapped it repeatedly, and the engine shut off. Short in the ECM? Fixable? New ECM? Would hitting a road resurfacing...

LT4 replace LT1 knock sensor with LT4 sensor

I too would be interested to know if someone has proof one way or another. The LT4 sensors are on Ebay all the time. Anyone else have first hand knowledge?

bleeding air from cooling system, how?

Look for a second one on the throttle body. I think that is the highest point in the system. -Mike
