    Help...electrical gremlin!

HI all... Ok, my 92 vette is possesed. I was driving back from a road trip today, and every once and a while the engine would cut out momentarily. (usually when accompanied by a bump in the road) The Service Engine Soon light would flash too. Then in an instant, it would be back to normal...

    Brake Pad Life

Pads for 12 and 13" are the same. If the dealer is telling you that there are 2 different ones, they had better be compound differneces, and not size. As for wear, I have 17 months on my rears, and they need to be replaced again. They were OEM ones that I installed at the end of last...

    Exhaust question

Ummm... Some. I have a full 3 inch system from the body of the cats (ie. cats have 3" outlets) to the back. I don't have mufflers, and right now, the system dumps about mid way up the spare tire. I have some resonanace in the 16-1900 rpm range. It is better than what I had with the 3" KBD...

    Exhaust question

Make sure the person making the x knows what they are doing. They should be two pipes that are joined by a whole in the sidewalls. If they run two pipes into one bigger one, and then back out into two pipes, run. That is not an x-pipe. I will see what I can do about scanning the pictures of...

LT4 LT4 vs GS (mostly a discussion of brakes)

That may be nice part of the $$$ that people pay for a new Porsche. I don't think the majority of Corvette buyers would be willing to shell out that much for brakes off the showroom floor.

LT4 LT4 vs GS (mostly a discussion of brakes)

I would love to have brakes like that of a Porsche. On the $$ side though, does anyone have an idea of what ceramic brakes are going for? (My wallet just ran for cover.) Honestly, I know what you mean, and understand your frustration. I just know that the bean counters get in there and...

LT4 LT4 vs GS (mostly a discussion of brakes)

Um, I would not say "GM component" as they are PBR and Girtling parts. I am sure they could/would have provided alternate parts if GM had ordered them. Remember that even though these are high end sports cars, most people are not doing multiple high speed runs (upper 100's). Therefore, they...

POLL: Chrome, Silver or Black ZR1 rims on a White 92 coupe? Any pics?

One problem with chrome....its heavy. Polish instead, and you will save unsprung weight. Just a thought.

    convertible gears

I have 3.45 gears on my convertible. I have a 6spd, and that is why. I think the 6spds came with these gears. Besides looking at the option codes, you can check physically. One way is at 60, in Drive (1:1 ratio) what is your rpm? that will indicate your rear end ration. The other is to...

    Cold Air Intake On 1992

I picked up a tenth just taking the plastic piece off, and cutting open the rest of the lid. Cost was nothing, and since I cut inside the rivet holes, I can still put the plastic thing back on if I want/need to. I have thought about the cold air induction though.

POLL: Chrome, Silver or Black ZR1 rims on a White 92 coupe? Any pics?

How about CE rims? I have 9.5" all around. If you want to look go to my web site, click on the top link for Pictures, then one on the left for My Cars. Everyone that has seen them like them. They show off the 13" cross-drilled rotors nicely. Keep an eye out, I was able to pick you my set...

    Exhaust question

Or you could have a complete custom exhaust made for you. (I did) It cost me a little more than getting a Corsa system, but I went 3", and had the outlet of the cat customized. It now has a 3" outlet with mandrel bends to the rest of the system. Pretty trick. I agree with looking/listening...

Thanks.... I am going to change out the pads come spring, so I wanted to get some input.

You think the 13" are bad from that speed, try it with the 12" stuff! :eek Wasn't sure about the Z-51 optioned vettes. I had heard rumor though. Good to know. Have you tried different rotors? Might help. I have not run the stock rotors to compare, but I like the drilled ones.

    Do C4's go in snow??

Hi Toni... Thanks for the info. Yeah, I know that narrower tires are better in the snow, but my fear of hitting a rim, combined with the incredible price for these tires made it a deal I could not pass up. As for the price, WOW. The Goodyear's would not have cost that much if I bought them...

    Do C4's go in snow??

Does that mean corvette was not a sports car in '82? (not a manual in the bunch if I remember correctly) and no ragtops either! oops (unless you consider a T-top a convertible)

    Do C4's go in snow??

Salt??? no salt here. Magnesium-Chloride. No rust problems that way. They use that and some sand. The sand is the problem b/c it can chip paint and windshields. As far a cleaning goes, it does not take much to clean mine, and you would never know I drove it in the snow. I have been...

    Do C4's go in snow??

Toni.... Questions on the tires..... Are you running 255/40 all the way around? On what size rims? I am running the 275/40/17 on the factory 9.5s all around. I know I should run narrower, but I got a really good deal, so here I am. I have heard that Nokian makes some larger sizes for sports...
