One More Thing--I Promise
I had my first wave today! It has alot more meaning than I thought. Very Happy to officially be apart of the group.
Rock On,
Anthony
Well the good news is that I was able to drive my baby for the first time today and she was wonderful. All that power made me kinda nervous for the first couple of hours especially after I opened up the Secondary Carbs. I don't think that I could've ended up with a better deal.
THE BAD...
I have a 2.5" offroad, underneath Stainless Steel exhaust coming off the stock exhaust manifold and it sounds great. I have the low rumble during idle and acceleration. I don't know what brand name it is, I'll let you know when I find out. Good Luck!
Thanks
I'll defenitely pick up that magazine. I was considering having a dyno done on the car, I wounder if I should have the same shop do a compression test and help me tune it for pump gas.
Thanks
I just purchased the AIM and service manual for my car. Hopefully they'll be able to point me in the right direction as far as getting those windows adjusted and anything else that I run across.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to All,
I just took delivery of my 69 today (Man is she goodlooking and the sound--WOW!!!) and noticed a slight gap between the rolled-up window and the t-tops on both sides. I talked to the seller and he said that he's adjusted it four times and that's the best he could get it...
I don't know what I'd do if I ever saw my car with a cracked fender. I agree with Nut; The guy who runs into me better be fast because I'm gonna run like hell to catch him. I hope everything comes back together.
Good Luck and Happy New Year.
TC,
The car arrived today by the way; it is amazing!!! The gentleman I bought the car from told me that the compression was 11.5:1. I'm not sure if he had it tested or not because the Specifications page on this site says that the compression is 11:1 on this motor with these heads. I do know...
Thanks
Barb,
I was reading through the thread that you told me about, and I got to the post talking about the 188 454/425 convertibles and I realized that I wouldn't be happy with a brown everything stock car. What's the point if you don't have something that you can enjoy every part of? So...
Hello to all,
I had a question about the correct octane use in the L71-L89. Is there a top end on what octane you should use? I've talked to a few people who have said that they've used airplane fuel (110 octane) in this engine. Is that harmful? What is the lowest level that I should...
My Vette!!!
Thanks Black Thunder and 69MyWay...I did buy the car because I liked it...and I'm very happy with what I have. I can't explain how I feel when I think about all the good times I'm gonna have with it, but then again I don't have to. I'm 20 years old; I've got a sweet car that's all...
What my government education tells me...
From a fellow Mechanical Engineer (I guess I should say prospective Mech E since I still have 3 semesters.)
Work done by all the forces acting on the object as it moves from its initial to its final position: joules (J) or ft-lb (energy)

I agree
I agree with the saying to each his own. I haven't even taken delivery yet and have already caught some slack about it being overpriced because it is custom. I know that none of this matters because in the end it's the enjoyment that I get out of the car. It's too bad that people...
I had a general question about the appreciation of a customized car. Obviously a customized car isn't worth what a #'s matching original is, but does a custome vete appreciate. No doubt the same rate, Black Thunder was saying that a #'s matching original 69 L71-L89 was shooting up to...
