There were no models of the C6 Grand Sport made as close as far as I know. Greenlight produced a die cast C6 Z06 that could be converted to a GS Coupe but that is about it.
It doesn't run to the trunk, it plugs into the back of the radio where the CD deck would have plugged in. Yes, everything you need is included. The cupholder mount is very slick and hidden when you want it to be... I use my iPod Classic with 160G of music!! I could probably listen for the entire...
Just an FYI... Our friends at Mid America Motorworks have a complete iPod adapter system that comes with a mount that utilizes the "cup holder" in the C5 console. It isn't cheep, but it looks and works great. I have one in my 2004 Z06.
There is a good chance that the "diode trio" in the alternator is bad. It is pretty inexpensive and easy to change, while apart changing the brushes would make sense too.
One huge negative for me with the GoodYears was the wet hi-way traction. My GS hydroplaned horribly at 34mph on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. A combination of the negative camber angle and garbage tires. :mad
With the aggressive factory alignment, I only got 12K out of the fronts on my '10 GS! NO track days!! I changed over to Michelin Pilot Super Sports with a less aggressive alignment ( 0 camber) and am now getting reasonable tire wear!.
Bottom line, the Good Years are junk and the GS has a VERY...
Go for it!! spring rates, sway bar diameter, and shocks should be the only differences; along with a more aggressive alignment. You may want to opt for the Sachs shocks from an '04 Z06, they were by far the best. Just remember, that base vert IS heavier than the Z06, so don't expect miracles...
I'm jealous!! I've got two Vettes, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and an Avalanche in one three car garage... Plus the grandkid's stuff, two snow-throwers, work bench, roll around, emergency generator and refrigerator!! :D
