Either one of two things can be causing them to fail early, assuming the doides short & the quality is top notch.
1: not dissapating its heat correctly. (I doubt it if its in the original oem housing)
2: electrical spike(s). possibly you have some type of non oem electrical device(s)

It would be interesting to see what is failing with the alternaters and why.:confused :confused This is not normal.
I have the original.......... don't jinx me now!!!
The first item to come to mind for this sympton would be loss of fuel. Fuel pump relay, wiring etc.

Hi Karl, thanks for the carfax info.
In the meantime I had gotten the complete carfax in an email from a member.
This is a '90 coupe that I rolled over a few times near Pittsburgh, Pa. in '92
Allstate Ins totaled it. I gave them the title they gave me a check.
The car faxed showed it was sold...
I am assuming you use a torque wrench when you tighten them.
If you have fairly new alloy wheels you will find this condition too.
A good rule of thumb is to re-torque the wheels after 200 miles.
my wheel has a few cracks on top but the black was dull and beginning to wear off.
As a last ditch effort a couple of years ago, I used Kiwi liquid shoe polish.... Looks good !!!
I washed it thoughly first and let it dry..
try it

Somehow it is difficult to feel sorry for anyone paying peanuts...
It is difficult to say this but, you may have a vin pasted on your car from another car.
The dealer sticker can be doctored up too.
It is easier to sell a car like this where you are than in the USA.
The vin is also several other places on the car that sometimes are not changed by the...
