    Tire Pressures

I am only interested in just driving it. Very rarely do I even hit passing gear. I usually run close to the max air pressure in my vehicles except when it is snow season. Different folks different strokes.:Twist

"normal" operating temps? and hot center console

I believe water always boils at 212° at sea level. Water still boils when it is mixed in another substance. i.e. moisture in engine oil, Maple Sap. ;)

    Tire Pressures

I have found that anything less than 30 psi will bend the 17" rim when a good deep pothole is hit.:eek

    JackStands on a C4

The safest place to use as a support for jack stands would be directly under the ball joint. I doubt you did any damage anyway. Looking at the wheels the way you are and seeing them turned out is just an illusion. If they were really bent out like you are stating, you would be able to see a...

    hood latches full of water?

Mike the hole is on the front corner at the engine side. I didn't think it had one either until I started poking the corner with a coat hanger. The grime made it look like metal :beer

    hood latches full of water?

The latch on my drivers side was be full of water a few years ago. I cleaned it out by removing the latch and cleaned the drain hole out. I seemed to be restricted with just plain old dirt. Now, once or twice a year I run the garden hose through it. Been fine ever since.

    Bump Steer?

some of this normal due to width of the tire. I have had a different brand, ( i now forget the brand) that did this intrusivly, it went away when i installed diffferent brands.

    Front Pump Seal

If its just a spot, maybe you can live with it. Usually when the front pump seal leaks it will vary in the amount. Sometimes a big puddle, other times very little or none. input shaft seal will be a consistent spot on the floor. Once the trans is out both should be changed. A dealer tech...

    Throttle body and cable problem

Depends on: if you are driving the car every day and this happens it could be a sticking IAC. Its on the side of the throttle body. if you just replaced the battery or took it out of storage the ECM could be learning its idle strategy and will get better in a day or two. if you have a...

    Michelin Pilot Sports?

I put a set of these on my 17" rims. They have been the quietest tire yet. I have 53K miles on them and I know they will hit 65k easy Most I ever got before was 40k on a set of Toyo tires. The last 15k on them was so noisy I had to wear ear plugs on long trips. I recommend the Michelin. :dance...

    Throttle body and cable problem

While the throttle shaft may have excessive play, it takes alot to make a difference. You can take the throttle body to a carburator shop and they can rebush it. I paid $20 for teflon rebushing. No drilling needed. Also, before I actually would go the rebush route I would, after cleaning...

    Common problems with Vettes?

A common problem is that it only seats two. This is a serious problem when having to go somewhere and have to take the sedan. Other than that the two seater is perfect and I wouldn't want to see more the two seats

    97 Vette W/73000 Miles

Its 5 years old. That is not alot of mileage. You will save much money on purchasing it due to the deduction for that mileage on a Corvette. I only consider buying high mileage cars and have fared very well doing that.

    85 cold start injector problem

Firstly, the cold start injector only sprays while cranking and it needs to see a cold coolant temperature. Secondly if you are having an idle problem when hot, how do you know it is because of lean? What is the tps and iac count? If you want something to try that will cost nothing...

Car drying with a "leaf blower?" NO WAY!

I used a window squeege for years until they came out with those silicon ones made specifically for eliminating water. It works nice and I don't have to wory anymore about the metal on the window squeege scratching the paint. I still use old bath towels to dry it. No, I don't apply talcum...

    Fuel Tank Capacity

I don't know how much is still left in the tank when I run out. Its possible it could be 1.5 gals. Add that to the 18.5 gal refuel and total = 20 gallons. I drive from here to Carlisle, (all interstate)exactly 450 miles and I need to gas up in Carlisle (I usually just hit reserve). I normally...
