After a car show this weekend I had a dead battery. Got the car started and home. After it started it charged back up to 14.1 volts and stayed there while running. It sat in the garage all night and started this morning. Started checking and found that when the rear hatch is left opened (as it...
The hood on my 85 opens but when I pull the release it doesn't pop up as it used to. It does release but only comes up a tiny bit. I suspect the struts or the springs at the rear corners (or both) are worn out. What should I replace to make the hood "pop" open like it used to.
Puchased new seats for my 1985. Went the whole route and bought the covers already installed on new foam. Old ones came out easy. New ones should be a snap to install. The bottoms are but the tops are giving me a fit. ;help The four existing clips in the seat frames are all in good shape...
I just purchased new rear window struts for my "85. The new ones, from Mid America look easy to install, however I can't figure out how to get the original ones off. Anyone done this before.
I've noticed a few drops of oil under the front of my motor over the last year or so. Didn't think much about it as I have 147,000 miles on the original motor. Last week there was a small puddle - 6 inches in diameter. First time this ever happened. I drive the car to work a couple times a week...
Tickets for this years' Corvette Corral at the 12 hour Sebring ALMS race are now on sale. The race is March 17th . Other events take place during the week leading up to the 12 hour race. Tickets can be purchased directly from the track for $230 for four days. This is for two tickets, reserved...
Has anyone heard whether GM and the museum will have a Corvette Corral at this years' Sebring race in March and if so where tix can be bought. The one last year was great.
I figured it was time to flush the cooling system on my 1985. While everything is drained probably a good time to replace all the radiator and heater hoses and clamps. Top radiator hose and most of the heater hoses look fairly straight forward. However the lower radiator hose appears to be in a...
Is there any way to move the passenger seat back a couple inches? It appears that there is room behind the seat when it's all the back back. If not is there any reason why the passenger seat does not go back as far as the drivers seat.
This question has most likely been answered before but I can't find it anywhere in the forums. I've received a copy of the build sheet for our 2004 coupe from NCM. The date at the top of the page says April 14, 2004. The date on the door sticker says April 2004. I assumed the build date was...
We bought a bright red 2004 coupe earllier this year and have had a terrific time this summer. Just got back from 10 days in sunny Florida.- Sebring, Daytona, Disney. Drove straight back (913 miles) on the last day. Haven't experienced any problems so far except - I get really nervous when we...
We pick our new 2004 torch red coupe this Friday. I'm looking for ideas as to what and what not to do as far as polishing and waxing the new surface. I've used McGuires products for many years and have generally been pleased with the results. The car will live in the garage when not on the...
Getting my 1985 ready for summer. Plugs, distributer cap, rotor, plug wires and coil. I've done this before on other chevys but never the vette. After I removed the shield from the back of the TPI unit I noticed that the distrubuter is partly tucked under the cowl. Are there any tricks to...
Has anyone attended Gordon Killebrew's C-4 school near Bowling Green?
We've attended his seminars at Carlisle. He and his wife seem like truly decent folks and he certainly possesses a great deal of knowledge about C-4 and it's history.
I know this is not a fun subject but...............is is possible that a faulty speaker relay could have different affects on different speakers? I have a 1985 coupe. Two of the speakers (front left and rear right) work fine. the other two work but have a static sound. I've changed the speakers...
