Is the float moving up and down free, and not catching on the hose clamp you installed on the hose for the pump?
Check the ground wires.
Check to see if you broke the clips that hold the half moon cover on the float.
You don't want to screw up that sending unit .You won't believe the coast of...
I though you were looking for a hood for your 94 86 and up will fit.
I got an 85 shipped to me for my 86 and the sides stuck out too far and the head light buckets would not fit.
I am going to try to take some pics fro another thread on the other form he is doing the same thing.
I did cut up my fuel lines .I made a dession to not save the front fuel lines and cut them off under the a/c box .I don't have an a/c box anymore the last nitrous explosen took care of that.I...
I think on your 383 you might need a little more carb.
I would think a holley 850 vaccum secondaries and #81 jets in the primaries

I sold a set of 86 valve covers 2 mths ago with the emblem in perferct shape for $10.00,the buyer sent me $25.00 bucks and I thought he was being nice, but he new what he had.
I didn't remove anything but my valve covers and spark plugs .
Long air hose ,5/8 plug socket with 3/4 open end wrench.
I used a Snap-on 5/8 swivle socket and a 45 degree long handeled 3/8 ratchet.
Just cut the drip rails inside the valve cover, with a drummel tool.
You can also buy the LT4 valve covers, they are the same as the LT1 just don't have drip rails.
I think all the glue that I have found sucks. If you pull it tight in the rear and cut the excess off after you have installed it completely ,you will be better off.
Make sure you center the top with the old one inplace and mark the front and rear of the new one .
You have to remove the center consoul and the bolts are under the furry carpet in the glove box.Remove the carpet or furry stuff ,you will see some ovil plastic pieces remove all I think 4 of those and the screws arer under neath.
Just get a test light and remove the plug to that horn , plug the pointy end of the test light into the plug you pulled off the horn between the plug to the horn and the other end of the test light to a ground .Beep the horn and see if the light ,lights up.
If the test light lights ,horn bad...
