    Question: LS3 Gen IV V8

Unless GM has already done it for you the reluctor wheel will have the number of teeth. You'll have to swap it out so that it will work with the LS1 PCM.

Dexcool and when to change it

Check to make sure that you don't have any junk in between the AC condensor and the radiator. It is very common for the C5 to vacuum junk up off of the road and stuff it in that space. This will degrade cooling performance quite a bit.

    Help! header install running rough

A header insallation won't make your car run like that. something must be wrong. Check to be sure that the O2 sensor wiring is hooked up correctly.

    long tube header ?

You will see a performance increase with long tubes even if the rest of the car is stock. They will also make your exhaust a little bit louder and will change the tone. I run Dynatech Supermaxx headers. They fit very well, are easy to install, and do not require that you lift the engine at all.

Time to upgrade that old C5

I may have to think about doing that. What do you charge port a throttle body? Does the tune have to be altered for the ported throttle body?

C5 Killer Bee I just took a picture of the Killer Bee for you. You can see the large diameter and the new style MAF. I haven't finished the installation. I decided to go to a dual catch can setup. I ordered them from CCA and FexEx just delivered them. As soon as it warms up a little I...

You are quite right. I need a dyno sheet (with no cheating) that says 500+. :D I am not a bling kind of guy but I did splurge for the Katech valve covers (can't get the Corvette insert any more) and the MSD coils. That is only the second time that I have tuned a car myself so I am happy...

Hud installed in '01 Z06 Very cool! next up is..

Hhe HUD installation is quite easy to do. I have installed 3 of them for myself and friends. The price on the parts dropped quite a bit earlier in the year so it is a fairly cheap mod to do as well. It work perfectly with the standard windshield as well.

I was actually tuning for 13:1. I am going to be doing some more mods (Halltech Killer Bee CAI, Weiand Street Warrior intake manifold) and will be renting the dyno again to tune. I plan on tuning for 12.8:1 at that time. Here is the dyno sheet: Here is the engine:

Time to upgrade that old C5

I absolutely love it. I used a mild cam (for a 427) so the car is completly drivable. I only have around 1k miles on it so far. I am getting 14 mpg in city driving and and 24 mpg on the highway. I expect it to come up some once I get some more miles on it. I did the tuning myself and I...

Sounds like a fun project. I think that you will really like the 427. It should meet your goals nicely including getting decent mileage.

The rest of the parts arrived. The engine should be going together next week. Maybe installation the week after that.

    L92 Aluminum 6.2L Block

I just did a quick calculation came up with 11.02:1 given: 70cc combustion chambers -5cc for the piston valve reliefs .060" compressed head gasket (stock LS7) 4.180 head gasket bore diameter (stock LS7) -.005 deck height (out of the hole) I hope to have it running by mid April. I am doing...

I need to measure how far out of the hole the piston is but I think that I will be at about 11.2:1.

    L92 Aluminum 6.2L Block

No supercharger this time. I want something simple so I decided to go big inch NA. The LS7 intake will only work with the LS7 heads and the L76 intake will only work with the L92 heads. I have everything that I need for the build except the cam and head gaskets. Both of those should be here...
