I just heard about this, Googled it and found that it appears to be true. I don't know how to comment on it and have my opinion but thought you all would like to know as well.
Dex-Cool is being blamed for corroding cooling systems and causing costly repairs to GM vehicles. Early failures on...
Hey Ryan... could you get me 1000' of flight line and 5 gals of prop wash? ;LOL ;LOL
Congrats on the butter bar!!!
ex-USAF... but I worked for a living. ;)
It is integrated with the ASR because of the throttle control, so the CPU can tell how much throttle it needs to remove to stop wheel spin.
Replace the TPS and that will hopefully take care of your problem. It should fix the ASR as well.
Good luck,
H64 in module 9 is a TPS error? Thottle Position Sensor error???
The H means that it isn't currently happening, but it did happen. Which could mean that it's only happening while you are driving.
If I recall correctly... you might try topping off the brake fluid. It may look full, just add a...
Wow! You really hit it with this thread. I was doing this last night. :D I went to a local cruise spot and got tired of sitting and left. I just started driving down a main street and kept going until I felt it was far enough then turned around and headed back. When I got near home and decided...
I couldn't get a scanner to read my 93 either. I certainly hope it isn't the PCM going bad!
I did find(thanks Greg) a write-up on how to simply see the codes from a 92 or 93 by using the ALDL and the speedometer. Worked quite well on mine. I can send the .pdf file to you if you'd like.
Ahhhh..... well, I pretty much gave up on that angle when I discovered the speedometer reading technique. It works almost, if not as well as the $100 scanner. Thanks for your help. :upthumbs
Hey John,
The manual said something about a 12volt connection. ??? I didn't get it, so I just forgot it.
Do you need this info on the speedo code reading for the 92-93 Vette??
DrJ... makes you want to slap them doesn't it?!?!
I really didn't consider shopping for a scanner on ebay, maybe I should.
Paul said he was bringing a scanner so maybe we can get some cars fixed this year!
My Vette is still running with the same conditions and yet it's slightly better.
I shorted pin 'A' to pin 'G' and got the codes from the speedometer. Here is what I got:
Module 1.
H72
H74

Module 4.
---
Module 9.
---
Module 1.0
(at this point it sat there doing nothing so I just...
I would definately check out all plugs and plug wires.
You would be amazed at the effects of 1 cylinder dropping out under load. One of which is a nasty bucking.
The OBDI connector seemed to plug in normally. I did read about the change-over connector but saw that it was 1994 and 1995 model years that have those connectors.
After downloading the manual for the scanner in question, it looks like I need a power connector attached as well. Not sure though.
